And, no, that is no the Sonic ring sound. In keeping with the '80s style, it's the Yamaha DX7 tubular bell (which pre-dates Sonic by a good 8 years)

I love the ring sounds replacing the crystal lead, it goes well! This sounds awesome!

If only people knew how many FM-Based games use preset patches from the keyboards that closely resemble the hardware they run on At any rate, being in the zone blasting off at 1000+ km/h is my definition of Zen so this rendition is still very appropriate
