You gotta love how Captain Falcon wears a disguise so people don't know it's him, and then he just goes ahead and drives the Blue Falcon like it's not extremely obvious who'd be driving it.

This run went so much better than I really could have hoped for! I got to showcase Billy dying in Ch.3, double capsule skip in Ch.5, beating Deathborn in a photo finish FIRST TRY Ch.8, and even got the Dan skip early on for Ch. 9! Chapter 7 was pretty dicey but it can always get rough so its whatever. You may not be able to tell but my whole body and especially my hands were physically trembling during the first 5 minutes. But thankfully having David in the call just talking helped me calm my nerves a lot. Shoutouts to the homie. But man, thank you so much GDQ for having me able to run this game! F-Zero is always a fan favorite and after seeing CGN's run 8 years ago, it truly is amazing to be in the spot where his run first inspired me to give this category a shot. Its been long overdue to be shown on the big stage. I'm still trying to set a better World Record on my twitch channel if you're interested in possibly seeing something earth shattering. For anyone who has never played this game, I highly recommend looking up its cutscenes. Also has a great OST!

The exaggerated movements that the characters make with their arms are amazing. It's so crappy that it rolls over to being genuinely great. The blooper reels you get from beating any cup in Master difficulty with a character of choice are also great. Have any of you wanted to see Captain Falcon's underwear…? Well you caaaaaaaannnn

I heard someone in Japan bought about $40,000 in Nintendo stock just so he could attend the shareholder meeting and ask for a new F-Zero game.

Although I can't keep my hopes up for it, that would be amazing. There is a fan game called Aero GPX coming out that's trying to be a spiritual successor, so I'm just holding out for that in the meantime. There's also the F-Zero GX Unlimited mod that gives the game a lot of balance changes and AI improvements, if you're up for going back in with a slightly different experience.

I got this game at launch, F-Zero is the greatest racer EVER. I barely made it through this mode on the easiest setting, I'll never forget how incredibly frustrating it was. I can't even IMAGINE the nerves Hobbes was feeling. What an absolute legend.

Sick run! I was shocked at the double capsule skip at Chapter 5 and the lap 1 skip on Chapter 9. Love this game

If you are watching this, wanting to learn more about how to get into GX. There are multiple nice resources. There are YT tutorials by SDANaegleria that are super nostalgic looking. In the discord AKC wrote up a very extensive compendium of everything surrounding GX tech and course / chapter tutorials. Also for anyone starting out, i personally suggest not worrying about side attacking or shift boosting and focus on learning MT , Quick turning and MTSing first as these serve as fundamentals for everything else.

I always love to watch F-Zero GX runs. This game is as fun as it is mercilessly hard, but these runners make it look easy. Though watching them shift boost gives me secondhand panic lol.

Night of Big Blue, as well another song, Sounds of Mute City can actually be unlocked for use on their regular tracks through a button combination on the extras screen.

What a great game. My girlfriend and I love it so much. We were trying so hard taking turns and observating each others to improve. Some maps were awesome, but man this game is hard. Great ost also. A shame they didn't make a remaster with online mode or coop with CPU. That would be so sick.

Great run! I watched another GDQ run of F-Zero GX before and I don't recall any of these tracks so it looks like they're all story exclusive? If so that's really cool. Also I remember the runner doing something called snaking. Is that not utilized in this run?

Yes, this is a story mode exclusive run! This games speedruns are generally split between max acceleration (which is what snaking uses), and max speed.
