F-Zero The Legend of Falcon Lap 10 - Roger and Draq [Subbed]. In celebration of the 9th anniversary of the anime, I decided to sub the show with my friend Zedopp. We weren't too sure about some of the names, so they may not be entirely correct, but everything else should be fairly close to the original.
The material presented in the video belongs to Ashi Productions and TV Tokyo. We make no claims to anything. This is a fansub by fans for fans. Damn, Pico is a legend of a sniper, firing from that distance, at machines going as fast as they were. Whether he was using some sort of assistance or not, that's impressive.

I just love Roger Buster's personality. Such a badass delivery man in the galaxy. He reminds me my dad's good friend at work which is also a delivery company. I've met him one day and he had like the same additude.

Probably because the speed goes along with the air so it pushes down on the machine due to its shape. Same with Formula 1 machines. The wings front and back preventing it from spinning and for good handling at high speed. Aerodynamics and stuff.

You drove upside down in the games quite often, still, most tracks don't have an obvious underside, or one you can grip to at all, Falcon must have had some in depth knowledge of this track to try a move like that.

The instruction manual of the original game talks about how F-Zero machines adhere to and float above the track because of magnetic technology. Although, later games state that it's because of a system called the G-Diffuser (which is also how the Arwings of Star Fox fly in all atmospheres) which implies gravity diffusing instead of magnetism. G-Diffusers are definitely mentioned in this anime too. Although it could be a mix of both? The Blue Falcon is probably equipped with all kinds of cool emergency stuff like that anyway for bounty hunting.

It's pretty amazing to have played the absolute crap out of the F-Zero games and then stumble across this just now, in 2021. I always thought they did a great job with the story in game and in the instruction books, yes I read the instruction books in depth, especially the pilot profiles, and beat every cup on master with every character in F-ZERO X, and most of them in GX. So anyway, it's great to see that the story is even deeper than what I knew and has potential for even more we expanding in the future! We can only hope. Thanks for uploading and subbing! 👍

You honestly want me to believe not one spectator or anyone saw something crash into that blimp thing? Like even if they didn't have a camera trained on it to see it was the Blue Falcon they should have known SOMETHING crashed into it. Hell it was smoking and descending at some point.

HEY WAIT A MINUTE The machines were slowing down after they were informed that they were armed with bombs. But shouldn’t they have already been driving way faster than that range and blown up before Zoda warned anyone about the bombs?

they most likely where on a part of the track that has alot of corners, when they got bombs attached to the vehicles. thus they dident have enough of a straight to get up to a speed where the bombs would activate and potentionaly explode. them slowing down is just because they dont want to accidentaly go past the bombs speed limit.

物語の後半になった時にミスキラーの本当の正体の件とブラックシャドーの手口のパターンの詳細が出てくるが、一度、その回をみた後に、再度、今回の回をみてみると、別の意味でミスキラーがやっていることがとんでもないことをしていたことに気づいてくると感じた。

So this episode is basically F-Zero GX's 6th Mission. But how is Pico shooting bombs on the racing machines if his own machine is in the race (8:37)? Who's driving the Wild Goose?

Taijuusei That’s been a thing since episode 1 along with the Elegance Liberty and iirc the Red Bull Hell, in the last episode, the Red Gazelle is shown while Roy is spectating.

Not criticizing (I have the last scene of episode 5 dub myself). Just cannot remember that one episode being a thing at all [or 4 for that matter, but "Blow Out"/"Justice" at least hints at it] Apparently Eric Stuart was Draq, which by myself means good things (no word on Roger, though, which made me suspicious). Anyway, thanks for the reassurance. I'm off.

So, Rodger and Draq. Rodger basically gained Draq's love of F-Zero in the anime, though his personality is mostly unchanged. Not much to say here so I'm going to focus on Draq. Draq... yet another case of "this character is an alien so let's make them a villain" in the anime - it really seems to do that a lot, doesn't it? Massive character assassination here. In the main series, Draq is a huge F-Zero fanboy who finally got his chance to get in the pilot seat when he and Rodger received a pair of F-Zero machines to deliver, with no recipient given and the two decided to race in order to find the person who ordered the machines. In the anime, Draq's not really a major villain, he's technically working under coercion, but he still has a shady attitude here. I honestly don't like what they did to him.

The thing with the bombs in this episode reminds me of one mission from the Story Mode of F-Zero GX. Captain Falcon driving the Blue Falcon towards the blimp was freaking awesome :V The "post-episode" was interesting, I didn't know that the original backstory of Draq and Roger was also valid for this anime.

Yes it could be a reference to the Michael chain gang. However, in the original f-zero, there were other machines that were just recolored version of wild boar. Maybe that's a reference to that?

So I’m assuming there just wasn’t a real word to describe what the fruit was so there wasn’t any way to translate it into English, but I love the idea that Ryu doesn’t know what a mango looks like so he doesn’t question the fact that that fruit isn’t anything close to what a mango looks like
