The downshifts sound like a thunderstorm, it's amazing how strong the bass is.

I mean, just bring back the V-10's already! This is a spectator sport, so if you want more spectators, give them what they want... that V-10 screaming down the backstretch at 19,000 rpm.

People often justifiably marvel at the treble notes of the engine, but the bass notes are the crazier ones, when downshifting.

8:14 that’s the best I’ve ever seen anyone get through the chicane. Schumi showed why he was a master a with a oversteer approach. He nailed the first corner so cleanly to where he was practically parallel to the track direction, but the way he slides the rear with the very subtle correction coming off the curbs with the right hander on exit is beyond me. Kimi had that style and flare as well that year by a landslide in 2005 and how he was able to get the Michelin tyres to bite the track with the quickest and most aggressive exits. But that was the sexist sector 2 that year!

I’ve heard the V10 live on track many times. It was amazing. Goosebumps when they left the pits. Today the magic is completely gone. 😢

I have started to watch F1 as a kid in the years 2003-2004 and it has became my first love. If this would be now with how the sport looks like, with current technologies, their look and sound... this could never happen.

I remember seeing this engine in action live in Sepang when i was a kid with my father , i got hooked to f1 since then . This sound is nostalgic to me , bringing back so many memories with my father . One day , I'll bring my son to a race but since Sepang is no longer in the calendar , it'll be a lot harder for me . The camera angles are perfect. It is clear nowadays that F1 prioritise showing the sponsors above the racing; most modern shots are narrow field of view, low-down and blocked my mesh barriers. Some people say this is due to the move from 4:3 to widescreen, but all this changed is position markers and adverts on the side of the screen. It's clearly a move centred only around sponsors.

5:55 You can tell the difference in notes here between the Honda and the Mercedes upshifts. The Honda is very bass heavy while the Mercedes sounds higher pitched, almost like a brass instrument. It's music. They took a musical sport and essentially muted it.

Not only the best sound, but also the best looking cars. So many colours, shapes, small sized cars. Nowadays all the paints are this darksome style, cars are enormous, horrible sound...nothing compares to earlier 2000 era.

Get rid of those stupid electric pieces of crap and fetch these beasts back with today's aero package they might get more people following F1

The best part about these engines to me personally was the dopplar effect of the sound, the low high low of the sound when they blow by, it was glorious and SO LOUD.

❤❤❤ Goodness Me Do I Miss These Days. Just thankful I got to see this Era as it unfolded. Let alone the way the sound . The lateral movement of these cars was MENTAL. The way they Bounced about and wickedly jumped over the strips . Just UN REAL. And these drivers were not slammed down in the cockpit the way they are now. You can literally see these guys fighting with every ounce of strength in their necks to hold their heads entering some of these turns. Look again if u are having a hard time getting what I’m saying . Yes the cars of today are just the most amazing technology that’s ever been in Racing. But these cars. Were Visceral. And just a complete handful to drive

A quiet F1 car is not an F1 car. The argument to retain v6 hybrids states that because it’s more fuel efficient, this technology is more contemporary, relevant and aligned to the environmentally conscious market direction. In short: It’s the way of the car world, and formula 1 has to stay current and conscious of that. When was formula 1 technology ever about what the market was doing? Formula 1 should be about the spectacle and pure speed.

The most impressive sound i ever heard was coulthards v10 dying after the hairpin at Nürburgring. Absolutely crazy. We where 100m away from it.
