The current straightline speed of the AI is really not okay.

I don't understand why there isn't an option to have a seperate difficulty set for each track. I find it mildly annoying that I have to change it for every race.

I did this with Monza and Silverstone and found my level is 38, which I know is low but this is my first proper attempt at playing on a sim-racing “rig” with absolutely zero assists (no TCS, no ABS, no racing line, manual starts, the works) so I’d like to think I get points for that. Also it’s definitely gonna be more fun for me now I’ve found I’m at this level. A decent but not overwhelming challenge with plenty of scope for personal improvement. Can’t go wrong.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for making this video, I was struggling so much in career mode prior to watching this, but after applying what you spoke about in this video, I have been able to find the optimal AI setting for me! I decided to try this and not just on one track cause my own level varies across the 22 tracks. my lowest was 61 at Australia and highest was 72 at Brazil. This method is great, but the variance is dependent on you as a driver and your knowledge/skill of the track you choose so here is a tip for you all: choose one of your weaker tracks for this method to have a more fun in career especially if you start at the back of the field working your way up. you can always up the ai level as you progress in your career mode. I chose to do this for every track. obviously it didn't take 5 minutes but i decided to do it to get more accuracy and it turns out my average ai level across the 22 tracks is 65,68 so i will be running 65 AI to start my career mode.

Hmmm...seen many different ways to get the best AI difficulty...I find the best experience is to do everything you said up to one shot quali and at the end of the session you should be matching your teammates time. If your faster, up the difficulty and vise versa. I'm not a fan of my team, but this process have given me some amazing career seasons battling for p9-12.

Interesting and simple. So far I have used in career mode the principle that it should be a close fight between you and your team mate in qualifying. This takes into account car development and makes it satisfying as you develop the car and both move up the grid.

I just did a race at Bahrain and was struggling to overtake Latifi at 95 AI when I typically use 100 AI. Hopefully as you say it's an anomaly but using your tactic, I'm getting 100 AI. Was 6 tenths above 95 AI at Saudi and 4 tenths above at Australia so 100 AI feels right. Codemasters do seriously need to look at the balancing. Tracks like Bahrain, Imola, Britain, and Belgium, they are so much quicker when using the same AI level.

I am 98 to 104 ai with no assist but so diffult to find the best ai setting because track to track is hard so this video helped allot

I would have go and adjust it for every circuit, because Jeddah is one of my best tracks, buuut, I would test and adjust the difficulty on my best track an keep the same difficulty across all tracks for a better challenge. Last time it helped me improve and get better on tracks I normally suck at: COTA, Hungaroring, Zandvoort

I remember playing 80 AI difficulty on Bahrain. Qualified P4 in a really crappy Aston Martin, Seb qualified P18. I drove that car like it was my last day on earth, I was holding up Perez who I overtook on turn 4. Held him up for so long Max and Russell ahead of us got to 30+ seconds. I defended so hard and Sainz almost took my position cuz I was so fixated on Perez. They DO NOT lose speed on corners.

used to beat 105 by racing casually - now having a hard time keeping up with 103 even with my setups.. have to fully focus to beat 103 rn. they're strong this year.

Update:This definitely works....I used to be 88 on Imola but this year I'm not.Using this method my difficulty is 67.Just qualified p18 for Imola with only a few tenths between the midfield runners and back markers. At Jeddah I was 90 but using this I'm 87. Definitely works.

I'm used to 104 or 105 in f1 2020 and 2021. In this game I'm struggling at 97. Feels like a completely new game. Cars are so hard to control on corner exit. I love it but hate it at the same time. Feels like I suck at the game. I'm going to try 95 one last time before I rage quit.

Putting up on and off track effects to 100, I noticed the AI cars start having more accidents in the race,. But you have to look after your tires more . Especially on tracks that have high tire ware .

Im so lost with this ai rn, I qualify p7 in the third worst car on the grid, just to be eaten alive in the race with my teammate lapping a second quicker and the ai catching like 4 tenths on me down the straight without drs on

I got P10 with Bottas on 80% AI using the "Increased top speed" setup on Saudi. Turns out my setup sucked before because I was always P18 with 60% AI, the car felt great and I thought I was just bad at the game. Guess I need to learn how to setup my car properly cause I am not very good at it.

I did qualifiing on all the courses just today and started at 30 behause I totally had no clue how my level is. And every time I had the fastest round I added the number of sekunds I was quicker to my diffikulty and every time I was worse than place 10 I suptracted one point. So my score on the secund run is average starting point of 7 at difficulty 67 🙃 (all done with the standard setup without any changing)

this doesnt work for me in myteam, i did the one shot quali and the results basically showed i should put it on 86 so i did and when i went back into myteam, my teammate got pole and i got p20

I started from 0, but I force myself to build a lead big enough to force a one-stop (change tyre compound) AND wing adjustments. I'm trying not to do that on older racetracks.

It is so difficult to set the right IA in this Game. I mean, in F1 21 I used to play at 85, but in F1 22 I had to drop it to 80. But even this way is weird, because in Qualy I'm damn slow, but in race I gain around ten places! I think I'll set it in 75 and see what happens.

The AI is very unpredictable in this game, I mean. I actually play my 2 players career mode with a friend, and we're good with a 88 ai difficulty, but in Imola is just IMPOSIBLE to play with that. There are some circuits where the AI is just broken. I think Spa is one of them too.

i think along with loads of things wing wise 99% of set ups and people ive played against and spoke to just go with 0-0 let alone that it feels like atleast for me atm with myteam my teammate ai is vastly more op than the rest of the grid like the the settings i have everything on doesn't effect them. As of rn im seeing my teammate button get 1:15 each lap time around Monaco even after tire deg is super high when lap times should slowly drop so i still dont know what to think but im still trying to enjoy the game and keep changing my step ups each time. With controller i feel like its already hard for me lol so the ai feeling not like how i used to feel it doesn't feel right but what you know f1 being along side ea i dont expect much from them and much caring about what we say edit: just looked over one of my replays and saw that my ai teammate doesn't lose tire deg at all through the race and warming up the tires is p much easier for them than it would be for me or someone else, also it does seem like he has no battery drainage either lol

Have you found a way to calculate the difficulty on career mode (my team or driver career)? Since last year I felt that because of the R&D (or maybe not) the AI level was son inconsistent between tracks. I could win a race on 85-90 and the next track I was out on Q1. (Last year Silverston and Zandvoort were broken. This year I've found Bahren too quick and Australia a little glitchy).

what if the quali is full, the AI always make a boost of 1 second faster at the end of the quali session (usually 1 mins left)

Idk why but my normal AI i was using in F1 21 (94) is just so overpowered on the straights like even with DRS I can't keep up with them just with ERS so I don't know how to fix that

bruh picking a difficulty is so hard cuz i am fast in corners and then the ai uses literal speed hacks on the straights to take half a second off the gap i made

I just got into sim racing with a wheel and pedals and in F1 22 right now, after only a few days of practicing without assist, my best lap times are typically around 4 seconds behind the record lap times on the online leaderboards. What AI level do you recon that could correspond to?

By the way AI's are .2 faster by difficulty level from 100 to 110

I play my team and in seaosn one I was achieving results fair to my cars performance but come seaosn two the AI are suddenly are on another level and I’ve had to turn in form 90 down to 75, I turned adaptive AI off but idk if I’ve just suddenly got bad or if the ai get broken with a upgraded car

They have to improve the AI system, at 77% I won with a 20 second lead and at 80% I came in 15th place.

It's not just Bahrain. The A.I is alot faster. I was around 88/90 for Bahrain but I'm down to 65. Same with Imola.

I hate how AI is locked in a session. Just had it skip straight from quali to the race and I’m so mad bc I turn the AI up higher than I can handle in quali and now I’m absolutely fucked for the race

I can't change ai difficulty it's stuck on adaptive and I can't turn that off or turn it up I can't find any setting with anything to do with adaptive ai at all

F1 2021 I raced on 90 about. This game I’ve had to lower it by like 40 i dont know what’s wrong lol. Like I set it to 70 on Bahrain and I lapped everyone in a 25% race so I turned it up to 85 to see if it was better and now I can’t even keep up even on 60

What is AI difficult what does it mean and what does it do?

I'm going to do that trick and find my best AI level :) I do have 1 question: I recently adjusted my sensitivity on the controller so that it is easier to control, only he then puts many settings wrong, such as: throttle. This is a solid idea but I think there is one major flaw. If you can run a track really well, but others badly, then you would get very different results from each of the tracks. I am really good at Australia but unbelievably horrid on Hungary for example. Those tracks will give very different ai levels. Also, i dont understand every one complaining about the difficulty of the ai or cars. Isnt this kind of the point of new games with new content? The real F1 cars changed drastically this year and are more difficult to drive, so shouldnt F1 22 be the same? Why do so many people only find games fun and good if they can dominate them? This game is fantastic but I loved 21 as well. I guess the percentage of gamers that accept a game for what it is and offers is different than those that are never happy. I mean Red dead redemption 2 took 7 years and $450 million to develop and is unbelievable game in all aspects and still has some negative reviews. I have been gaming since pong, commodore 64, atari etc. so games today and the technology is unreal compared to all of that and I love it all!

how to change difficulty in career f1 2022?

I drove 95 ai last year and now i cant seem to keep up with 70 at all, its very frustrating since i dont know what to do

I don't understand what's going on.. F1 21 I was around 92. On f1 22 the ai is RAPID out of slow corners (or the full fraction control is slow but even medium is like ice with a controller) and I put it to 85 and in my team I got stomped. Now I have it on 77 and its hard... But this guide is telling me to put it to 96.. I done it on jeddah and it was saying 96 then went to bahrain which is meant to be really op for ai and I was still first place telling me to go 96....

Easy way i set AI% to 5

This game is nonsense, i was playing perfectly at season 1 of my team at 100-101 with no problem, it was balanced, but in season 2 with better car i had to lower it down to 95 and i qualified 22th at hungary, when in the season 1 i managed to play hungary at 100 and i even qualified better on season 1,how is that possible?

I did this and i am 2 seconds faster then 10th on 80 ai so that would mean that i need to put my ai a lot higer but if i put it to 90 in myteam i cant keep up
