Watch Gerhard slide his Ferrari around Monaco in 1995. In my own opinion this is one of my favourite F1 Ferrari cars. Lovely to look at and also to hear its V12 Ferrari (Screamer!) engine. Just Awesome!

Do it on one lap, it was a mistake on the throttle. Do it on every lap and you are deliberately planning to power slide in that corner. In a F1 car that is definitely not designed to do it. Remember, these cars are built to stick like a bad rash to the tarmac. Gerhard is one of my heroes. Love his sense of humour and he is one of the greatest drivers ever.

I'm a 43 year old Irish guy who started watching F1 in 1993 from the 94 season onwards Damon Hill was my guy so much so I took up riding motorcycles so I could wear Graham/Damon Hill's helmet colours. I remember that 95 season and being disappointed Damon's challenge fell apart. But when I look back what an amazing season......V8's V10's V12's, less tech, drivers who put it on the line, cars you could somewhat relate to your own motor, no pre determend races because of computer projections. That era is the classic quote you'd say to you kid "Back in my day".

I don't want to be a smart-ass either, but this WAS in 1995. The cockpit side walls were raised only in 1996, not in 1995 (The only team that volountarily increased the cockpit walls already in 1995 was the Sauber team with the C14-Ford after Karl Wendlinger's accident in Monaco in 1994). The deep kayak-shaped cockpit apertures also were a contributor to the severity Mika Häkkinen's accident in Adelaide 1995. In 1996, the cockpit cushioning became mandatory.

@azidahaka2 no electronic aids, man. the faster times are down to the aero(more downforce, less drag) better chassis and suspension, thus more grip and speed through the corners. no launch control, no active suspension, no traction control. F1 drivers were, and always will be, very fast. no use comparing different drivers of different eras. If sebastian vettel had driven in f1 back then, no doubt he would have posted roughly similiar times to gerhard.
@BobbyboyPlays13 жыл бұрын
Look at the Steering wheel. He is not pushing any buttons, he is simply driving. Today they have many many buttons they even push them in the corner. Earlier: Step into the car and drive Today: step into the car, drive change this, change that, push this push that. I think would like to have a steering wheel like in this Video, an not like a gamecontroller Only my opinion

@kralle7611 yes, basically. The diffusers will be cut down, that's good. But I dislike the idea of the rear wing flaps being adjustable from the cockpit. If it was possible to simply reduce the 'visible' wings (front- and rear wing) to the size of 1980-1982 (which means: the era of the ground effect cars, only w/o the ground effect sidepods now), that would be a good approach in my mind. minimum front wing, minumum rear wing, no curved underbody. btw, thanks for replying! :-))
