Lewis was never pure speed, but he was always racingmind and finesse. I said that he was gonna do something special again. Keeping a unchained Max behind was phenomenal.

Yeah, "3 year drought", due to an unpredictable - on/off porpoising - dodgy rear end ( whenever you tried to push a little), etc. Basically, a consistently inconsistent car since 2022. Finally (many will hope), the car may be on the upward (only time will tell regarding this). " He was a bit lucky that McLaren made bad choices, because their car seemed to be the fastest, but none the less a great drive." If that is how you see it, then you have to be fare about the fact that MV was also "a bit lucky that McLaren made bad choices", because, yes, their car did seem to be the fastest (overall) and had also passed MV during this interchangeable (and very interesting) race. LN, like LH, also went on softs for the last stint. LH, like LN, was also held up (can't remember how long crofty suggested by) while waiting for a car to clear the pit lane before he could drive out. Have to look at race again, as can't remember which pit stop, but it all adds to how further ahead your car will end up being (insert time lost in pits), at any given time, throughout the rest of the race. As for choice (some are mentioning) of tires for last stint for the 4 up the front of the pack... They could have all chosen different tires between the 3 types available, or all on the exact same....yet nobody truly knows how that would have worked out, either. It turns out that LH and LN were on the same tires, and MV on hards and OP on Medium... Considering softs are the first to ware down ...Somehow, LH just managed to do what he did with the softs, better than LN did, and also managed to stay ahead and bring it home in front of those on the hards and mediums. There were enough laps left when the last stint started, for anything else to happen between the 4 up front and which could have changed the outcome. Exciting to see more of a battle upfront and going to watch it again (when I have the time) before deleting recording. Happy for LH.

@@tonm08 Somehow it seems that you interpret my post as a comparison between Max and Lewis and who is the better driver, which was not my intention at all. Just saying that it was a race for McLaren to win, but due to mistakes they didn't. Max and Lewis both did terrific. The reason i gave Max the edge was that his car seemed objectively the slowest of the three and he made up several positions from the starting grid.

Today Mercedes didn't have an inferior car, they were very fast, Red Bull was nowhere. But the fastest car I think it was McLaren. Big blow for Zak and Lando.

Car Setup, strategy, and racing skills was the difference today. The McLaren and Red Bull are still the quicker overall cars. I would say Red Bull out right speed, McLaren fastest in racing tire management conditions. Both are better than Merc.

Mercedes had a good car the last weekends. It just shows that the talent comes to the forefront. Lewis and Max. On a normal day they would end where they started, but today it just shows. Best 2 drivers on the grid.

Lewis is a close second and Max isn't in the top three yet. I am awestruck by Max's performances and can't help but admire him, but he still needs the accolades
