If Max had completed the lap, it would've been one of the best Pole laps ever, similar to Lewis in Singapore 2018

Damn that was such a beautiful lap. The prettiest that NEVER WAS. Ugh. I was heartbroken when he hit the wall.

He was up there with Vettel and Hamilton indeed... And then he crashed. For me, that crash never happened. I like what happened before, on the ragged edge. Supreme skill.

I think it’s fair to say it’s the best lap that never was at least in modern times. Funny enough is it’s probably remembered more *because* it’s unfinished than it would’ve been if it were especially since it’s debatable if it’d have been enough to take pole if Max had taken a line the RB16B could’ve completed without touching the wall.

@@SanchezS1998 fair point, but if he were to take safer line which means he would've to go slower even a tad bit on that corner, the lap time would turn out to be very different. But it's definitely on par to challenge with Lewis' lap.
