Regrettably, Mercedes Benz seems to have lost its once clear vision for the AMG department. This has resulted in their vehicles remaining stationary on sales lots, struggling to find buyers.

91,500 CAD, wow. Just went back to look at the order of my previous 2017 C43, which had all the packages (AMG Drivers, IDP, LED Light, Premium pack and some other bits) and that was 77,600 CAD (with freight and PDI)

I had bought the previous gen S205 C43 AMG wagon after watching your review in 2019. That was a fantastic car and the 3.0 TT V6 had a ton of character, and performed great especially with a remap and downpipes. On a level of 1-10 this appeals to on a minus - infinity. Absolutely crap.

Don't see how you buy this when the BMW M340i Xdrive exists.

I had a 2018 C43. That engine and exhaust at the time were excellent until all the regulations muffled it I’m still thinking g about buying a used one and tuning it to keep it as a nice 4 door fast daily driver that isn’t a full blown 63 model

The old one was actually faster when tested than this one. The extra HP in the new C43 doesn’t make up for the added weight and the price jump places it in the same range as cars it can’t compete with.

8:24 this is the kind of stuff that takes me from being a buyer to easily forgetting it exists. For nearly 100K that's totally unacceptable. I'd rather just not have the feature at all than have one that doesn't work the way I want!

For the first time, the 43 is the one to get over the 63 mode. That being said, there is absolutely no reason to buy a C43 over the M340i.

The V6 C43 was/is slightly faster, cost less, sounds better, and doesn't even have a mpg penalty. This car is nice but a step in the wrong direction imo.

I'm hoping the rumors of MB bringing their 4.0L twin turbo V8s back for future AMGs will come true.

So save some money and buy the old c43 or the old c63s. Got it 👍

Nah I'll keep my 2018 C43. It sounds amazing and honestly the interior is better. You can tell Mercedes is trying to save money on components like the head rest extension and seat adjustment buttons. They look really cheap despite the price being so much higher.

The problem is the feature creep on these cars. Yes, inflation has raised prices but the biggest factor in bumping up the cost is MB adding in things like rear wheel steering. I can get a fully loaded M3 (minus carbon ceramic brakes and the carbon fiber seats) for C$125,000. Of course you don't need to check every option and can get a nicely equipped M3 for C$108,000. Personally I think the M3 looks better (with the exception of the front grille too. I'm hard pressed to see why I would take a C43 or even the new C63 over a M3. The reason why MB is going back to V8s is the new EU regulations which will restrict HP as a function of engine size. So if a manufacturer wants to give a car more HP, they will have to give it a bigger engine. However, that also means more emissions hence the use of hybrid tech. These regulations will take effect in 2025 so that's why the V8 is coming back in the 2026 model year.

I’ve had it since release about 4 months now. I love it minus the fuel mpg ahah. Yes it’s a 4cyl. But for a daily it’s an amazing car. Super comfy, very well put together, great MBUX, etc

i had to get rid of my E53 wagon, the way it hits bumps was so annoying, and putting non run flat tires didnt change it much... So I opted for the opposite car entirely, a RX500h.. smooth quiet, takes bumps well.. My E53 hit bumps harder than my SL63 which is crazy if you think about it.. I loved it but dont miss it.

I’m biased because I have a current gen. C300, but I like this. The price is too high though. I would buy a loaded M340i over this and still save thousands.

I actually think this is a good engine for a 43. But it will be nice to have the 421hp software from the 45s. Better mpg for city drive and still more than enough power when needed.

It's not just the 4 cyclinder that's an issue with this car and the new C63. They just got the whole transmission tuning wrong. It's jerky as hell and extremely uncomfortable at low speed. On top of that, Merc is charging these much more than the previous gen. Just crazy.

Sounds like the engine, transmission, and hybrid coordination issues from the C63 are also here. If you watch these guys’ old C43 video they were so excited and now it’s all disappointment. Tells you all you need to know about the car

I own this car and I had the 2023 C300 before it. Have owned BMW (m850i, 3, 5 and 6 series) before this. After the run-in period this car's character changes. Lag is reduced, road noise is lower. Agreed m340i is amazing, but availability with options, amazing tech, comfortable interior, and more engaging drive (not at track) win with the C43.

Just got my C43 AMG 2023 and I love love love it!!!

Amazing how many people hate this car simply because of the 4 Cyl, as long as it makes power I don’t care how many cylinders the car has! Our XC90 T6 RD Polestar feels way faster than the V8 Land Rover LR4 it replaced!

I was watching this in hopes of seeing what is in store for the 2024 GLC 43 (yes, the SUV),but the Sluggish transmission and body creaks is making me question choosing a MB.

The v6 c43 with a conservative staged 1 gets you rs5 numbers. They also have one of the better sounding v6 in the market plus they don’t look like a Hyundai

No matter how you look at it, the new 2023 Mercedes-AMG C43 is still properly fast and loaded with tech and luxury. Most importantly for the majority of buyers, it presents the allure of the three-pointed star badge and the letters 'AMG' on the bootlid, and it's not just for show as it does the label justice

I cant believe the price. I used to manage the photography and advertising for a local Mercedes dealer, and I loved the C43. I thought for the price in 2019, the C43 was a great car for the money. It was balanced and incredibly fun. But now, nearly $100k for a 4 cylinder? Im shocked. Even with inflation, nearly $15k more is criminal.
