well i have a 67 f100 i had to repl my floor pans as well, few things always wear eye protection hate to see you loose a eye also, when i did mine i used a sawzall with a good blade easy to cut. pounded the pans into position and then used big sheet metal screws and used the electric grill also used silicon between the metals so no water and leak thru. now the screws i used had a hex bolt for a head and where self tapping. hope this can help you.

Great channel and video's. My grandson and I are working on a 1963 Mercury 100. It was my first vehicle. My grandson has a channel called 63 Mercury! where he creates videos as we go. Like your channel we are trying to share our progress and learnings as we go. Hoping to encourage others to start their projects as well.

This looks like a perfect scenario for some ol Fitzee "cut and butt". I hope you haven't given up on the dream buddy - even if you've given up on posting videos. Hang in there. It'll happen. You've got a great foundation to build on there. If you give up now, you'll spend the rest of your life regretting it. Don't ask me how I know. Get back to posting videos, even if it's just to let us know it's done or if you've moved on.

XYZ. 😉 I did this first thing when I got my 66 F100. You could literally put your foot through the floor Flinstones style. LMC is the way to go tho. Got my floor boards and core support from them and it's top notch. Welding in new floor boards is a biotch tho. So tedious. Keep up the good work. PS - I liked the music 😋

Lil bit late now but you really need to understand what happens when a grinding wheel decides to let go. Not worth loosing an eye over and your still way young to damaging your hearing man. Make safety a top priority when you work. A few bucks and a few seconds to put the right gear on ain't gonna break the bank or put you behind schedule but it might keep you from getting hurt.

Those pans you got off amazon weren't the best. They are just a very basic fabricated patch panel. Just a very basic panel for someone that just wants to cover up a rust hole. A lot of repair panels like from LMC aren't always the best either. Most place's repair panels are cheap chinese steel that don't always fit well. But they should at least be a stamped panel that will closer resemble the stock floor pan. They should be much better then those amazon ones. Don't be upset if you get your new floor pans and they need some trimming or tweaking to get a good fit. That's just part of the deal when repairing old vehicles. It would have been better to wait for your new panels before you cut out the floors. Because you just don't know how much material you are going to get with the new pans until you have them in your hands. Your driver side should be fine. But I'm a little worried about how high you cut your passenger side one at the rear and transmission tunnel. But worse comes to worse you end up having to cut some little patch pieces out of some new metal. And you probably know this already, but just incase you don't. After you get your new panels fitted. Mark out all the areas were the new floor sits over another piece of metal. Then drill ( or punch, if you have a metal punch ) some small holes ( Smaller then 3/8" ) in the over lap areas in the new floor pan. This lets you do rosette welds where there were spots welds from the factory. You just clamp the new floor in place and then weld up the holes you drilled in the panel. This gives a cleaner look when you are done. The rosette welds will just look similar to a factory spot weld. This works out great on projects/areas were you have some kind of floor crossmember, etc. It also lets you weld the new panels in from the top in those areas. instead of laying in under it getting splattered by the hot welds. Can't wait to see this beast on the road!

im still deciding whether to go with the 5.4 4v the 4.6 3v or the 5.0 coyote of corse they all run into header issues what did you do with the steering what column did you use and how did you get it to work
@BlackLabelGarage
@BlackLabelGarage 4 жыл бұрын
@@Fordf-td6wq I chose the 5.4 4v because they are relatively inexpensive, especially compared to a coyote. The crown vic ifs comes with the rack and pinion which is a traditional pump based system, unlike the coyote. My column is an aftermarket chrome with a shifter on the column. Its actually for a Chevy but can be wired to work with the ford selector system. I will have a video in the future that goes into greater detail for this. The 3v have good power but its a 50/50 chance when it comes to a good motor so be aware...
