how tight is the spindle nut supposed to be without the wheel falling off or damaging the bearing?
@hairnbeard6 жыл бұрын
Isaiah N if your talking about the axle bolt, you can tighten it all the way until you can get the cotter pin in.. but when in doubt, google the torque spec

Did you ever replace the hub assembly or the drum? How do you replace the drum if you can’t get the hub assembly off of it?
@danmantyla33153 жыл бұрын
I think you just gotta smack it with a hammer. I took the drum off and the hub was seized to it, I took it to a shop and they said I needed to take it to a machine shop to have it pressed out with a hydraulic press, then pressed into the new drum. I took it to another shop and they got it separated after only a few seconds and I gave him $10 cash. He said it was just seized together from rust, wasn't pressed in my a machine.

How do you know how tight to tighten the bearing nut?
@hairnbeard7 жыл бұрын
klarsen100 thebearing nut gets tightened almost all the way then you will probably have to back it a tiny bit to get cotter pin in... as long as the cotter pin is in.. you are good

On the reassembly, I think you are missing an inner bearing and the oil seal.
@hairnbeard6 жыл бұрын
MKRBRKR i have to be honest,i don't remember, but i believe the seal is pin the other side of the hub and the bearing is on the drum?? i have since changed the entire suspension to a mustangii.
