If that was F1 he would have crashed, cars are too wide. It was just as incredible that he managed to keep it out of the barrier on the left after swerving out the way.

Yes I feel like this year feels way closer, or it might just be me thinking it is! I get what you're saying about Antonelli and Bearman, but I also feel that due to them both being bad, it could just be Prema getting to grips with the new spec car, but of the two antonelli has been way more consistent. I agree with you about some of the other rookies, I think Maloney, Hadjar, Bortoleto and Aron have been superb and it would be great to see any of them on the grid but I struggle to see where they fit in due to their affiliations. If any of them were with Merc (I know Aron was last year), or Ferrari, there would be way more scrutiny on both Antonelli and Bearman. Like Bortoleto has two young strong drivers at McClaren ahead so unless either of them leave he wont get the call up, Maloney is at Sauber who will have hulkenberg and likely sainz, he will also be behind pourchaire. Then Iwasa is in front of Hadjar, I could see Iwasa being skipped is Hadjar wins, double swap at RB on the cards? Then Aron is obviously unaffiliated. I would love to see Williams take a rookie next season but with how Sargaents done I can see them going for an experienced driver. They should take one of their rookies or maybe try pinch aron!

@@harrisonturpitt personally the only driver ahead of Hadjar in the running for an F1 seat is Lawson. If Hadjar doesn't get a seat next year which i think he genuinely could depending on his results, my guess would be either he takes Lawson's role as reserve driver or a 3rd year in f2 will only be the case if he gets really close to the championship but obviously doesn't win it

So in 2011 they had a big accident due to drivers loitering waiting for a clean lap. So they made the change where half the pack go first, then the other half. Fastest time overall gets pole, then the fastest from the other group, and again and again.

@@harrisonturpitt I thought the flashing lights in the tunnel before Hadjar encountered the stricken car were the yellow flags. Hats off to him for his lightning reactions but I thought he would have slowed down beforehand. I didn’t hear of any penalties though.

Thanks for the update! Bit surprised that Stanek didn't receive one either. Altho as Bearman, Maini and Correa are all in the bottom half anyway and they'll serve it in the sprint. They wouldnt of scored points anyway unless it was a crazy race so not the worst.

Bearman is so massively overrated. How he is in contention for an f1 seat is ridiculous. Antonelli his younger rookie teamate is the same but he is smashing Bearman. Bearman can't race, can't qualify, crashes, stalls and it's his second year in f2. There are much much better drivers who deserve an f1 seat ahead of him.

He's had a rough time that's for certain. I agree that he's made probably the most mistakes, I think Haas might be reluctant if he finishes the season like this especially with drivers like Bottas, Zhou, or Ricciardo likely to not have a seat.
