A training game against a patron in the f3 (Kmoch) variation of the Nimzo Indian Defense.
From now on I’ll be recording training games as often as I can. I have two measurable goals in my training weeks to come. Aside from working on the endgame, strategy, and a new repertoire, I have set a goal of reaching 2300 in lichess tactics (goal complete!) and 2100 in lichess classical.
Here is today’s game:
1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. Nc3 Bb4 4. f3 O-O 5. Bg5 h6 6. Bh4 d5 7. e4 dxe4 8. fxe4 g5 9. Bf2 Nxe4 10. Qc2 Nxf2 11. Qxf2 c5 12. Nf3 cxd4 13. Qxd4 Qxd4 14. Nxd4 Bxc3+ 15. bxc3 e5 16. Nb5 Nc6 17. Bd3 f5 18. Nd6 e4 19. Be2 b6 20. O-O-O Be6 21. Rhg1 Ne5 22. Kc2 Rad8 23. Nb5 Bxc4 24. Bxc4+ Nxc4 25. Nxa7 Ne3+ 26. Kc1 Rxd1+ 27. Rxd1 Nxd1 28. Kxd1 Ra8 0-1

You are about to play the benoni? I'm very excited. If I may suggest something, the best line i find isnt the benko gambit, and the modern i find to not really fight for an advantage. The czech/closed benoni is my main move, d4 nf6 c4 c5 d5 e5. The ideas are great, there is a saint louis chess club video, advanced game analysis, by ben finegold which goes in great detail. My other favorite is the snake benoni. After d5, e6, nc3 exd5 cxd5 Bb6! The idea is to remanuver the bishop to pin the nc3 knight, and get a bit of a queen side attack. Lastly, do you plan on covering the blumenfeld countergambit?

what do you think of e5 without f5 on move 17, he cannot take the pawn with the bishop because you pin him with your rook.

In the last videos i think i have heard about the planned tournament, closed for patrons, i think so. Maybe i missheard "tournament" and "training", sorry for that.

After ...g5, I think the correct move for white would have been a3

Isn't 4. 0-0 really really bad idea, because it allows for 5. e5?

White can’t go to e5

You mean e4. Black's strategy is to allow white to build a large centre, and then attack it with pawn breaks such as pawn c5 and d5. The battle evolves around whether white can hold the centre together or if black can prove it overextended.
