This reminded me of my grandfather who served as an officer at the Philippine Air Force. Did not really get the chance to know him but seeing his PAF pictures, awards and other memorabilia makes me miss him. RIP❤️

What's cool about the FA50 is its made in Korea and is a joint program by Korean Aerospace Industries and Lockheed Martin. It's basically a T-50 trainer from LM. It replaced our aging F-5 fleet. We've only got a total of 12 fighters currently. The purpose of these trainers is to prepare our pilots for supersonic and modern fighter capability for the future. If you read up on the FA50, it's one of the most advanced version of the variant with advanced electronics and radar. It's about time our boys get up to speed! EDIT: Its task is multi-role, it's seen action doing ground support in Mindanao against terror groups. I personally would have chosen the Saab Gripen over this as that is better in air-to air and can takeoff on very short roads if needed. This has inferior air-to-air capability and can only handle sidewinders.

The reason he had that mask is to stabilize pressure during fluctuating G-force. So no if you could see his face, it is completely normal.

Rank as the top PMA(airforce) cadet in your class, then consistently rank top as 2Lt. Even that may not be enough because there is only 12. Just say yes to every opportunity and be happy with what is offered to you.

Didn’t read the title, the thumbnail got me. I was thinking this is somewhere in the States. While during take off I was imagining that this is my son flying. By the time he is about to land he will make few passes by our house at a low altitude scaring my neighbors and tha’s what a father’s imagination is. WTF! during landing I saw our house on this video then Cebu Pacific passenger planes, this was in Mactan Cebu Int’l Airport! Shit, I live here, so much for my imagination. To the pilot...your father must have been so proud of you. Keep safe!

@@juliogorio9683 You cannot go straight to operating aircrafts your are proposing after decades of not having a supersonic aircraft. There is such thing as "lead in fighter/traiter" or LIFT. One step at a time. This is part of a long term plan by PAF and not just stupid suggestions from some mr. know it all. 😊

@@juliogorio9683 This lead in fighter/trainer is part of the horizon 1. This is needed to prepare PAF pilots for MRF. This MRF is under horizon 2. It is now at Duterte admin's hand if MRF will come true at horizon 2. Horizon 2 is until 2022. Currently many horizon 2 projects do not yet have a contract signed.
