Player from Guatemala (Central America) here. My group of friends have to import everything, pay extra customs and sort of teach English as part of the process of teaching other people the game. For us, the game "started" at Monarch because that was the only thing available for good price at the time. Now, we will be able to get all the history of the game in our own language. Great job from LSS. We're really excited for this announcement.

I just love this. FAB 2.0 is also about investing more into areas that better support social and casual play, in addition to our ongoing major commitment to competitive play. This is covered in part 2.😊

love the new marvel rarity cards and symbol! Love that you now have only ONE type of box. And that's it. You want Uprising? Ok herre is a box, the only box. And that box has everything and with the hype and chase that comes with the INCREASED rarity of high end cold foils. The only downside was the retiring weapons thing. I hate that. There are weapons that are meta-matchup useful for some heroes that will be retired because some different hero attains living legend. I need to get some FBB History Black Label boxes in spanish (my langauge). Just for fun.

Honestly the fact that they're starting to promote casual play is so damn exciting. I'm very interested to try UPF as Blitz, especially because only needing 2 copies of cards makes the format even cheaper to play

You are hands down the best FAB KZfaqr out there. No baiting, No time-wasting, just pure discussion on the update. Loving what LSS doing with the update, they know what they are doing and how to position themselves very well in the market. Keep it up buddy!

The trajectory of FAB is great, and FAB 2.0 reinforces that. You can see it in the support for playing the game at your LGS or going to a calling. Looking forward to the future of FAB.

As somebody who's more casual armoury nights got taken over by more hard-core players than meant a lot of people lost interest due to losses (not blaming hard-core players, but people didn't want to come along every night when to top 4 were the same every week with incredibly quick meta decks), I'm so happy to see the more casual scene getting pushed.

White border, never holo. They will not affect the price of the OG for long if at all. All of these changes are fantastic for players, and the History set will be amazing to bring in new players who dont want to spend 500-600 on JUST equipment to compete at a high level. The history set is PERFECT.

Just yesterday I decided I was going to start playing FAB and looked at card listings Even though I knew I would only ever need a single copy, I still winced at the $100+ Legendaries This new Historic printing model seems perfect if they execute it well - I want them to keep the value of Collector Pieces, but still have cheap, legal Game Pieces that anyone can reasonably obtain to use in Sanctioned Play This very well might thread that needle

On paper, this is what I was hoping for with a PvE mode. I'm so hyped. I always thought that FaB kinda felt like a mix between an RPG and a fighting game in the form of a TCG. If these new modes pan out like I hope, then this will straight up take over my life.

The o ly thing that rubs me the wrong way is the fact that you cam pull a RF fable. I haven't pulled my own Fable yet, ngl gonna be salty if I pull a RF and not a CF

*edit* I looked up past msrp prices and noticed that it wasn't until everfest that LSS actually put an msrp on the boxes as opposed to individual packs. MAP is 20% below MSRP but that's a subject for another day. Unless there's info I just haven't found, there's never been an actual MSRP on booster boxes so that "buying a box saves you money" is not always going to be true. the price of the history packs throws me off a bit. usually when you buy a box or a case you save a little bit of money based off of buying the packs individually. with the history packs the math given the msrp saves you around less than 1 dollar a box. of course history packs really are more for players who missed out on those early sets, but 140 a box is a big chunk of change for the player on a budget. great idea to bring back old cards, just a little surpised by the price. looking forward to more lore, new rarity, new beginner friendly products, new game modes and just playing games.

The history set is huge! Even though white borders look «different» (to be polite, actually some cards may look real nice) it’s a great way to maintain the value of the cards from the original set! It’s also very smart them covering multiple sets at once, considering getting all the commons while having to buy a few less boxes.. for players waiting to just play with the awesome cards, as LSS put so nicely!

Just a fantastic announcement with so many solid choices for the health of the game. Having one product release with the chance of cold foils and a better pull rate on RF Legendary is fantastic. Commoner being official with set rules is great for both new and existing players. Living Legend as a format should be great for tournament players and viewers alike. I do think UPF is more fun with CC decks though, it really helps with attrition and avoiding targeted blow out turns. Someone had a rules mod to UPF where you draw back up to 2 cards on every off turn and I've actually playing that style quite a bit more than base UPF.

I'm all for this set up, it will allow me to purchase things better without having to split and save funds, so now i can do say 24 boxes one 1 single set instead of 12 first ed and 12 unlimited or the like. It'll make keeping things organized a bit easier also since i organized by rarity and unlimited or first the best i could.

The Good: I really like that they have made the commoner format official, I had already been building a deck for each hero. The Bad: I understand why the product is now a mix between first and unlimited but as a person who has been enjoying collecting the complete sets of FaB I feel that I will now be priced out of that with how expensive/rare the Cold Foils will be.

Love the changes, especially the UPF , which was so messy with young heroes but 60 cards, now you can just have your blitz decks and a sideboard deck for turning that into a CC deck w/ sideboard, and if ya wanna have some UPF or even someday soon PVE campaigning before your tournament or after getting knocked out early, you can play all of em easily.

I don't like the look of the white border that much, but I think the history packs are a necessity for this game. It's not good to have 'necessary' tournament play cards locked behind extreme prices. So I think this at least solves that fundamental problem with the game to this extend. All the other things are fantastic. The focus on casual play can open the game up to a huge market. New play modes. The attention to lore. I love all of that and think it's very healthy for the game.

Very excited for this! We actually have a store here in Guadalajara that has events. I haven't been able to go yet because it's not super near me, but I'm really excited to check it out soon! I think reprint sets are a good thing and having them in white borders seems very fair. I like that the cards will be available in multiple languages, though here in Mexico every player I've met for any sort of card game prefers having English cards.

Not only are they working hard on PVE ... PVE will be their flagship multiplayer offering. Cool!!

I’m so excited dude, about all the things as well. In particular - I didn’t imagine combining the foil and CF cards in the future boxes as a possible solution to the 1st Ed/unlimited situation, but it’s so intuitive and a fun way to do it!

I like the concept of white boarders, but actually wish they would choose a darker color like gray, silver, or even gold. White boardered cards get dirty and grimmy so easily. I'm assuming this is one reason why MTG stopped printing them.

Just finding out this game and because of that I looking for new YBers on this game. I have watched some of videos on this game and I am going to get into probably this month as far as money is good. You have a new Sub here. Glad to be on board for this. I'm a 20+ year vet in MtG and it's kinda stale and I'm always on the look out for different games. I have over 40 table top or miniature war games in my collection and I look forward to see this grow as I get into the game at a good starting point. Thanks for all the info and more moving forward.

I think On the short time perspectives, reprints going to lower card price but on the long therm ,black border should hold value if the game stick around for long time like magic

We have been playing UPF with blitz rules from the beginning because our group doesn't do classix constructed to begin with, and thought it was stupid to do young heroes with old hero decks🤷 Was the change I was most excited to see. I really hope pve also follows the blitz deck building and young heroes as well.

I honestly think Fab 2.0 is close to best case scenario for the game going forward, the only thing I’m sad about is that weapons can become Living legends

Being that I just started playing FaB, I'm glad the game is growing, my friend just opened a LGS and I'd like to get a community built up there. I don't know if I like the idea of my freshly built deck possibly being rotated out of blitz eventually.

The only thing I could ask is if they would either make plain legendaries that have double the drop rate… or you know one per box for the historical set. Other TCGs run around this problem pretty well and I think it feels bad when there isn’t a box with a legendary in it. Plus at $140… they probably should just do it.

Some weapons are used by heroes that aren't their original match, and they open up interesting deckbuilding choices (like with warriors trying out different loadouts as you mention), I really don't see the value in rotating them alongside heroes for vague lore reasons, meh. If they had stated "hey look having an ever-growing pool of weapons restricts our design space too much so we'll remove them to make it easier to keep printing new ones" then I'd get it more, but even then why not just rotate weapons as you start rotating entire sets in the future instead of tying it to the arbitrary living legend status that your design team can't plan around as consistently since it depends on tournaments? At best that means designing replacements is a slower process (since you don't know for sure when something will rotate until much later than you would if you just went chronologically), leaving larger gaps in the meta where one hero might be much worse due to another hero's weapon rotating before the "replacement" comes in, even assuming the replacement is useful in a similar way. As a side note, the new Bravo is not tied to Anothos, and the new Dorinthea won't be tied to OG Dawnblade, so your guess that new versions of existing heroes might resurrect weapons seems more like wishful thinking than something that current patters back up (if anything they seem to imply the contrary). Of course the future is hard to predict, so we'll see, but your optimism seems to be mostly based on a hopeful disposition than any tangible precedent. Apologies if this all sounds excessively abrasive, I'll be happy to be proven wrong if none of the above ends up being a problem, I'm just a little more skeptical of what seems like a needlessly fragile and restrictive approach to rotation.

I think nonfoil black borders will take a bit of a hit but RF black borders will take no hit. Most of the time RF cards are just a bit more expensive than NF so honestly its really worth it just to keep their value better.

WHITE BOARDERS. YES YES YES. I’m really excited for the PvE. My partner doesn’t like playing against other people, so would be great for us on game nights! I’ve never been more bullish on FAB, wow!

I am extremely excited about pretty much every aspect (other than 40 card blitz). In a card game, you should always prioritize players, both competitive and casual, and I think that everything they have changed to do this works towards making that philosophy much more easily attainable.

I'm dissapointed with the whiteborder... it feels backwards! I would like to have borderless cards instead of whiteborder.. I do understand is to "not make the value of 1s/UN go down" but its just silly to make the same steps as MTG... they are gonna take back this for sure in the future. White border is collectable? Since it doesn't look so it will have higher pull rates for needed L/M cards? I hope so, but I honestly don't think LSS do it properlly. Regarding the L CF pull rates is just nuts, this will only favor speculation on CF cards.

Almost every change was positive or likely-positive. The one exception is the weapon LL change. It is something that offers nothing but a negative impact on the game. As it stands, if a weapon is ok, it is left alone. If it is op, it is banned or watched to be banned. Under this change now, you now open the inevitability of fair, fun, and deck-diversifying weapons being banned for entirely flavor reasons. No one asked for this change, it solves 0 issues, and will eventually further limit an already tiny card pool of weapon options. Even if it doesnt happen for a while, it will happen eventually.

Weapons banned with heroes when they became a Living Legend is weird. This is the first time I've seen lore-based bans in a TCG. "Has anyone been winning a lot of championships with a hero?" Maybe a weapon you might use in your deck (with any other hero) will also be banned.

Yes, the white border reprints will reduce demand for the black border versions and therefore reduce the black border values. This could turn around in the future if the new demand resulting from a larger player base exceeds the reduced demand that occurs as a result of other buying options existing. Just think what a Beta Lightning Bolt in MTG would be worth if there were no reprints of it year after year.

As someone new and want to play it should I wait for the uprising releasing assuming if they do starter decks? Also how pricey is it is purely just go casual with just friends? Do play a lot of magic the gathering mainly edh format. What got me interested is it looks like edh with the commander pretty much the sole creature on board with equipment and abilities. Reminds me a bit of pathfinder trpg with actions you can do each turn.

If Kassai gains living legend status, does that mean the CC Boltyn can't use Cintari Sabers or does it only apply to Blitz?

Chronicles was okay, even exciting opening the packs hoping to get something good. It was homelands specifically that was crap and everybody hated it.

As a collector, I don't care much of the small change in cosmetic, ie, borders. I collect cards for its rarity and uniqueness in how the artwork is presented. So, I wouldn't mind if LSS would release an alternate product of the same sets that will be heavily focus for collectors. Everyone has to remember that no one is forcing individuals to buy the dearer alternate products. I love FaB but I am praying and hoping for something new that focuses for the smaller community of collectors.

White border reprints make no sense. You have already boxes of ARC and WTR for 50€, we have a ton of these stuff. Why reprinting these things again?!?!

History set is Chronicles 2.0, sigh... Even IF flesh & blood continues increasing it's player base guess what? IT DOESN'T MATTER. WotC taking this fumbled reprint in cycles to destroy the value and pissing off it's current player base a long with setting a negative perception of the company. The game be damned when it comes to people's dollars. Guess LSS will repeat history and find out. I won't, nope think I'll be ebaying my singles asap and revisit in a few years.

I love playing FaB fist of all, but this game is in serious trouble and the direction is bad. Sorry James White. You remove first edition in all future sets, except you are now printing "black edition/ first edition" in your historic set that has "special" cards? is this not a problem? Secondly I was feeling good like you DMarmada, however when you painted the picture of the possibility of a flood of white boarders like E-strike. Just think, the value fo e-strike is it is majestic and powerful... what would happen if you just printed e-strike white boarder at rare in the next set? James, I think you just booted the collectors/investors. Good luck selling a card game that has no value.
