Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen Dual Marker

Looking at the new Pitt Artist Pen Dual Marker and comparing them with the original Pitt Artist Brush Pens. I now have 18 of the new dual markers, I will continue to add to the colours until I have the complete set of 30. I always watch out for offers at Cult Pens, as they have an excellent selection of pens, ink and lots of other art supplies.

The markers with the different color brush fineliner were probably stored wrongly (not horizontally; edit: before they were bought). So now the pigment is primarily sitting in one end of the marker. Ideally ask for a refund/replacement if that happens to you. Or contact Faber Castell customer service directly

Thank you. All of my pens are stored horizontally and the shop I bought them from also store them horizontally, I am just pointing out that some of the new colours are slightly different which is probably because my old pens are just running out of ink.

@@FizzyStarArt I primarily meant that they were stored wrongly before you got them. There go through many companies/hands, with many chances someone just not knowing/caring about it

Thanks for mentioning this, I use photographic lights and film in 4K. Although the brightness is fine on my camera I had noticed that this video is darker on my phone. I have added new lighting since this video was made.

There are so many supplies available it is easy to miss new arrivals. These are really nice marker pens, I do have all 30 colours now and have another video showing all of them.

@@FizzyStarArt oh thanks for letting me know, I’ll check that now. They’re still a bit hard to find here in Europe open stock. I hope they’ll come to shops here soon.

@@coloredcarol8074 I have two Faber-Castell playlists, the videos are in both lists. It is so frustrating trying to find some items. Cult Pens where I bought mine deliver world wide, not sure how much delivery would be.

Hello, thank you for reviewing these, I only have the 60 original brush pens. I am more a colorist, I can't really draw, but I love these pens, better than any other regular watercolor markers. I am planning to buy the double ended markers. I wanted to ask you what paper works best for you with these. I think I like the Bristol smooth because it's a heavier paper. I saw a different video where she works on a board with smooth surface, I can't do that because I have to print the lineart. It has to be smooth so it won't hurt the brush nib, but something that will not absorb the Ink too quickly so you can blend the colors. I tried a smooth paper I use for alcohol markers, that didn't work. A HP Arches is not bad. Somebody recommended Yupo paper which is synthetic, definitely will not absorb the ink, I'm familiar with that because I played some with alcohol inks, but haven't tried it yet for the Pitt pens. I also heard sand paper but that definitely would destroy the brush. With water based markers it's more difficult because it could get streaky if you can't blend it properly. So that's why I am curious what paper are you using with these markers? Thank you do much 😊

Bristol Smooth is probably the easiest surface to blend on, I do use it but my preference is for a mixed media paper with a very lightly textured surface as I often use pencil or pastel with ink. I blend with my pens all the time but you do have to work quite quickly with vellum and mixed media paper. I would not use any rough paper especially sand paper with any of my ink pens. I do love Clairefontaine PaintOn multi technique paper and Strathmore mixed media paper. Provided you are gentle you can blend on a slightly textured surface without any damage to your pens.
