A fine performance, especially the central movement the Fugue .Zanon brings out the theme ,and highlights the structure beautifully and really makes sense of it. Well played .

He certainly has the right idea. If you listen to S. Richter's piano version, the choral melody interplay is astonishing: something that Mr. Zanon and also Paul Galbraith attempt, but still a far cry (i.e. that interplay is simply impossible on the guitar) from what Richter achieves musically, which IMO is far superior to all guitar versions I have heard.

Dear Fabio: Your grace and sincerity shines through in all you do. Thanks for sharing.

It's nice to hear consistent bass-stopping, especially in the Prelude.

What tuning does he tune his guitar to? sounds to me that at the very least he tunes his G string down to F sharp....correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you,. Ive played this piece for 30 years and this is the first time i ever heard anyone play it in this tuning. It does make sense though, and I will try it out for myself. Huge fan of your work!!!

Interpretación de muy alta calidad del Maestro Zanon. Me parece insultante la cantidad de gente que acudió al concierto. Yo hubiera matado por estar.

Fabulous Fabio not quite Glenn Gould but keep on trying brother

Glenn Gould, while a great pianist, isn't the end all and be all when it comes to Bach, especially if you're approaching Bach in a historically informed practice kind of way.

la guitarra desafinada o no afina!

Seems string 4 is out of tune. Although the score is respected (Prelude) I prefer no stops of the bass notes, furthermore I would prefer a little more drama and inegalite in the fugue, the guitar also sounds sometimes too percussive, the counterpoint is ok. The allegro is sometimes too staccato and the way of too less frasing makes it somewhat mechanic. I would prefer a more lyrical approach in general with more gracefulness.

Miss Underhill Be respectful to an artist! You are entitled to criticism, but do it in a civilized way.

Fortuitous and irresponsible words. I guess criticism can also be void of character and imagination...
@johnmckindley-ward80706 жыл бұрын
I agree don't be disrespectful sir or Madam! Nobody is perfect. +Andre de Moura very well put sir. The criticism is actually much worse than any element of this imperfect performance. To Miss Underhill, please let me know when you come to San Francisco on your 1st place winner GFA tour. You better be good too otherwise your going to hear from me.

Also, you will notice - with no stupid ugly grimaces. Some of us appreciate music unaccompanied by melodramatic faces and straining. This is not an easy piece, but he fools you into thinking it is with his relaxed posture and performance.
