This show is a perfect example of what an absolute stone-cold killer Jimmie was in his prime. Obviously, Stevie got most of the accolades. But Jimmie’s playing here (and for a solid 15-year period) was the apex of the genre. When it came to timing and phrasing and articulation and sheer cool factor, he was matchless.

The band has gone through 14 different line ups. And notice that there is very little rapport between Wilson and his bandmates on stage. That's always a sign of friction. If you can't get along with your bandmates, that's a recipe for failure. You don't have to be friends, but you do have to be able to work together towards a command goal.
@bradstivers9 жыл бұрын
Thos Robert I don't think you know what you are talking about. They have all played shows and sat in with each other since then. He trades these guys out to keep fresh, and then plays a shitload of side gigs with them aside from the TBirds.
@chuckfan19 жыл бұрын
He does know what he's talking about. He doesn't trade out guys to keep it "fresh". I've worked a lot of gigs with them as support, and most bands in later stages of their career, have some friction. But the TBirds, have a lot more than most. Well known within the industry. Yes, later on, they sit in with each other, etc, but that's usually a one-off. Theres a reason their level of popularity stopped at the level I did. Too much inner strife

Did not go far in the music business? One of the top blues harp players in the world.True to himself.
@greatunz674 жыл бұрын
@@bradstivers Thos is right, they did have a lot of friction within the band during their peak years 1985-1991. Jimmie left and never came back or ever played with Kim again, what's that tell you? They didn't get along. It's a shame what happened to that band, they were amazing in the 80's, no blues band was better. Now 30 years on and two of them are dead (both of their original bass players Keith Ferugson and Preston Hubbard) and Fran Cristina is retired from music. Jimmie is just a boring shell of his 80's self, and Kim is the only one keeping the T-birds flag flying, albeit very low.
