What type of putter do you currently use - face balanced or toe hang/balanced? Have you been fitted for your putter?

Omg my putting issue makes so much sense now! 🤯 I've always had an issue of missing right on my putts, so I've been over compensating by aiming left side of the hole, but what I see now is my putter is toe balanced and my standard putt is straight back and through..., my adjustment of aiming left of hole is actually turning my stroke into a slight arc 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 So I need to try out a face balanced mallet and aiming straight at the target with my natural straight stroke should work better Thank you so much!

Good theory video, hard to put in practice as very few good putter fitting centres in Australia, those who do only offer a certain brand that they make most money on. I have had 3 putter fittings and each time compared my previuos fitted putter to the one offered by fitter. Had an oddessay 9 fitted, then a 2ball then offered me a cleveland blade. style. So 3 different styles, surely my stroke hasn't changed that much. Ie even fitted putter from one fitter brand is different from another. How can that be..... 2 of fitted putters I putted worse after 2 months so went back to my old bullseye and still use that to this day ( despite the supposed non benefit).

Thanks Dr Greta, great video!. So i recently discovered this balanced vs toe hang while shopping for a new putter. So I currently use a Taylormade Spider Blade toe balance from 2012 and have never been very consistent. So I just ordered a new 2021 Taylormade Spider EX Mallet putter that is face balanced. I have never been fitted, but I believe I have more of a straight putting stroke. I'm definitely excited for the new putter.

Face balanced putters are really not face balanced at impact. That’s a myth. There is also no such thing as a straight back straight through stroke unless the player manipulates the putter during the stroke. Testing shows face balanced putters are not easier to square at impact, they actually go to closed very quickly. The real key is to match the degree of toe hang to the natural arc of the player’s stroke. If you want a putter that is face balanced impact, the ones to look at are SeeMore, LAB Golf, Edel or the old Odyssey Toe-Up putters. A putter that is face balanced when you point it to the sky doesn’t do anything.

The actions described here are *incorrect* in multiple ways. Face Balanced Putters *STAY* Square, Face to Path. A Toe Hang Putter *Closes* on the Backswing and *OPENS* on the Forward Swing. The Inertia of the *HEAVIER TOE* along with the Force being applied closer to the *Lighter Heel* causes this. This is how they impact Square to Target in an Arc Stroke.

for those 90% who have no idea...i feel they are also the ones who go buy a scotty blindly....because its a scotty. looked at one second hand and asked if it was a face balance or toe hang and they had no idea!!!hahhaha....but its a scotty!!
