I'll be honest, this is the best version of a very bland song that did not belong on Kingdom Hearts after Simple and Clean and Sanctuary. You guys made me like it, which is saying a lot because 'Face my Fears' feels like a random single they picked because she outgrew the music she used to do or something.

Thanks for the kind words and glad we could present the song in a better light for you. I think the original song is great, especially in the context of KH3’s opening and in terms of the composition itself, but I also see how it could be off-putting to some. The message behind the lyrics in Face My Fears also does really fit with the themes of what Sora goes through in the game (especially after playing Re:Mind). I love Simple and Clean but not sure it feels any more in line with the themes of Kingdom Hearts, or less like a random single tbh. Sanctuary is truly next-level which is why we were so inspired to do our version of that one first

Oh yeah, critical mode, extension of the story and characters with expansion on the final battles, etc completely change the game experience. Honestly wish they just waited a year and released it as part of the game. But I think a lot of what is in there is based on the negative feedback of KH3. Anyway I highly recommend playing it at some point
