The EFF allegedly received about R16 million in donations from the now defunct VBS Mutual Bank.
This is according to an affidavit submitted by former VBS chairperson, Tshifhiwa Matodzi.
Matodzi has been sentenced to an effective 15-year imprisonment after he entering into a plea agreement, pleading guilty to several charges that related to the collapse of the bank.
Hawks Head Godfrey Lebeya says anyone, regardless of their political affiliations, who has had their hand in the cookie jar, will be visited.
And Dr. Mathole Motshekga, representing the Balobedu Royal family of Modjadji says the airing of the "Queen Modjadji" series was never approved by the Balobedu family.

The question is how many years in real terms of the 15 years will he serve, likely at a low security risk prison? My guess is 3/4 years, which would be an injustice for those many poor people who deposited their hard-earned savings. The sentence should have been longer. If he is so contrite then he should pay back all the money he has likely stashed away, to be enjoyed after serving a short sentence amounting effectively to a slap on the wrist. I weep for the victims of these evil crooks. If there is any sense of justice then all the depositors need to be reimbursed by the state, which has a duty of care for depositors through regulating banks. Where was the state when this mass looting was carrying on?

It's mostly who made noise about Phalaphala farm money and to them " imali panziko matrase" and they formed parties with the poor people's hard earnings. I said it before to say where did they get money to form political parties. Guptas saga is also coming and that's they wanted to change the constitution to hide behind it. Never will happen again

I believe this has less to do with EFF. If EFF (number 1 enemy of owners of South Africa - DA) was truely implicated, Malema and Shivambu could have long been in jail. All political parties do take donations including the DA from Guptas😂.

@15:17 how convenient of the host to simply say “certain politicians” when in reality the politician in question is from the ANC. Had it been an EFF member I can bet he won’t have said “certain politicians” he would have called the party’s name. Why is the media so keen to protect ANC, the real beneficiaries of vbs? Yet this very media tries so hard to implicate EFF for VBS even though no EFF member has ever been investigated, charged, arrested nor directly linked to vbs?
