Meles Zenawi dedicated his life in uplifting the lives of the peasantry in Ethiopia. But he faced a lot of criticism from the opposition for his focus on peasantry.
Having got a scholarship at a tender age to study abroad, he gained a lot of knowledge on how to create good policies.

The countryside farmers are the backbone of the Ethiopian economy. It only makes sense to put them first. Agriculture makes up a majority of the Ethiopian economy. But heaven forbid in today's world you put the poor farmers first.

The worst is over. 27 years of imprisoning killing and abusing innocent people all over the country is over! Its a transition period for us so we don’t expect everything to go smooth but what ever the challenges are, Ethiopian people are behind our leader this time! Result: the Africa Group made a further submission to the UNFCCC that called for 45% emission reductions by developed countries by 2020, finance for adaptation of $150 billion immediately as special drawing rights from the IMF, $400 billion in fast-track financing, and 5% of developed countries' GNP in longer-term financing. The UN named Prime Minister Meles as co-chair of the Advisory Group on Climate Change Financing, a new high-level U.N. advisory group on climate change financing.

Absolutely not! He didn't help Ethiopians to overcome famines nor building Democratic government. where all tribes are able to live in harmony. He only helped his tribe to be the dictator and oppressor of other tribe especially Oromo people. now 2016 15 millions people are affected by droughts. people and livestock are dieing. Also illegal land grabbing in Oromo Regions. displacing more 1.5 millions of Oromo farmers and since November 2015 the Ethiopian regime government is committing genocides on Oromo Students for standing for their rights!!!

tplf didn't have any tanks, all tanks in addis in 1991 was EPLF, EPLF entered first through 2 groups the first flanking through sudan. ask the people in addis they were chanting "jegna shabiya" on the first few days when addis fell, TPLF didn't enter addis until few days later when everything was secure.
