Faces of Africa - Tragedy to Triumph: The story of Zambian Football

A tragic history turned triumphant 19 years later.
In 1993 a Zambian plane crashed into the sea 2km off the Coast of Gabon on its way to Senegal killing 25 passengers and 5 crew. 18 Zambian football players were amongst the passengers. They were headed to Dakar for Fifa World Cup Qualifier against Senegal.
19 years later Zambia national team, Chipolopolo, claimed their lost glory by winning the 2012 African Cup of Nations at the same place where tragedy met their fellow brothers.
Hence "Faces of Africa" sought to find out what led to this triumphant win and found really interesting facts about Zambia's football history.

...and that is the beauty of football(soccer)! It unites and gives hope were there is hoplessness and tribal conflicts. My African people seem to be divided across tribal lines but nothing brings us closer to unity than common interest and love for something as beautiful as soccer. I"m a South Sudanese-Canadian and I approve this video. Please share it for the sake of humanity. We are more alike than you think because we ARE HUMANS.

A befitting film that dig deeper than the good work of 'E18hteam,' still cries out loud. The story of each of those in the plane need to be told; their dreams, hopes and soccer artistry. Lest We Forget!

REVIEW: This is a tragic story of the Zambia national soccer team that perished off the coast of Libreville, Gabon, on their way to Senegal for the USA 94 world cup qualifier. Chipolopolo rewrote the tragic story in 2012 by winning the Africa cup tournament in the very country where it lost its squad. In decades to come, this story will certainly be a 'Hollywood' blockbuster. The story is inviting for an epic story of tragedy experienced by the nation in 1993, and not withstanding being denied winning the trophy in 1974 and 1994, but not in 2012, because Zambia were crowned African champions for the first time. -BIJANGA'OKOCHA!

Good brains geared towards human development and peace are essential for a united country. Greed and selfishness on the other hand may give a person a temporary happiness but humanity is not temporary, we are everlasting. People die and people come so please my people, when you die, leave this earth a more better place than when you found it. Everything good doesn't have to be about brains but COMMON SENSE is a must have virtue. Thanks my people for this inspiring video.
