I'm only 25 but I love learning from your videos. I would love to have work done by you when I am in need of it one day, but I'm sure you will want to retire in the next 20 years. This was very informative Dr. Karam! I was so pleased to hear that you don’t operate on smokers. Their face gets so distorted by smoking. I mean the epidermidis the wrinkles the texture and colour of the skin. A facelift wouldn’t look good on them for very long. You’re the first doctor that I’ve ever heard say this and it’s about time. Most plastic surgeons nowadays are doing a vertical vector facelift. The "windblown" results of the old-fashioned facelift are apparent and most people do not want that.

I really want a facelift but what's keeping me is: how do you know which surgeon is the right one? My question is: Is it 100% necessary to use prophylactic antibiotics for a Vertical Restore and, if so, can it be an antibiotic that is *not* a cephalosporin? I'm asking because I have a significant C. diff. history that could preclude me from surgery.

The woman featured at the end of the video was the same woman in a video that was posted last year. In that video from last year, it was stated that Dawn was 55 when she had the vertical restore and two years later (at 57), she spoke about how happy she was with the vertical restore. I'm confused. How old is Dawn? 57 or 67?

Question: Do you turn away a patient who doesn't want to have *every* single item done on your surgical list? For example, if you want to do a laser resurfacing after a Vertical Restore, but the patient doesn't want laser resurfacing. Or even if the patient wants the Vertical Restore, but not a blepharoplasty? Or if the patient doesn't want fat transfer at the temples (even though there is fat loss there) because adding volume at the temples would cause the eyes to appear even closer together?

I really live the idea that you mostly use IV sedation! S So much safer especially for older patients . This would be very very important to me. No vomiting, no nausea, faster recovery, and quicker recovery over all!!

Question: Dr. Karam, for the IV sedation/anesthetic that is used, what drugs are administered? I ask because I was once given IV ketamine, an anaesthetic, and it was a nightmarish experience on several levels, causing 12 hours of nausea and vomiting, even while I was given an antiemetic and had not eaten. I can't imagine those side effects after a face lift, and wonder if the drugs you use have any risk of severe nausea, hallucinations. Thank you for another fabulously informative video!

A plastic surgeon suggested doing a brow lift but he noticed that I have thin hair. He said I may or may not lose hair at the incisions. I have very hooded eyes & that was my main concern. I am 65. Had a face lift 11/12 years ago. With cheek and chin implants. The doctor didn’t believe in fat transfer because he stated that it is an unpredictable procedure. I am an African American. I’m seeing signs of volume lost. Recently I had Skulptra; three sessions. Not sure of the outcome of that yet. Can you still help me. I don’t look bad. Had the chin redone by another surgeon a few years after the lift. He also gave me a gently lift. I think that’s why I was preserved until now. The chin was toooo wide!!! It’s much better. However, I keep pulling that face back and can see those small jowls are there; especially on the left side. I have a great skin care routine and drink bone broth and collagen. I’m 5’7 and137lbs. Great health. Only supplements and eat clean. What do you think about the implants. I never hear you speak of them. Would you have to remove them to give me a natural look. I sure wish I could send you before, after and w. They were both good surgeons. Most people think I’m in my late 40s or early 50s. However, I can see the real truth 😂 I hope you reply. I am a one of your faithful followers and have even purchased the trifecta. It didn’t last very long; especially the wash. I am on prescribed tretinoid 0.1 for over a year now. Wasn’t sure if I should use trifecta AND tretinoid 0.1 at the same time. I emailed you office to ask, but didn’t get a clear response.
