The surgery was the easiest part. The chemo was brutal and the radiation afterwards was draining. It's been almost 2 years since my lobectomy. I feel good. I also have COPD so still have breathing problems but I am fully functional and can do everything I need to do and a lot of things I want to do.

My case I had surgery for aorta abdominal anurism 1st. Them a month after that I had my lung surgery. On top of all this I had type two diabetes. And HB also 4 years before I had a qurdurble by pass. CABG Took a little longer to leave hospital. Been 8 months still are to breath at times but getting better pain still have some they told me could take a year or more to completely heal ..Have had 2. CT scans so far all clear 2 more to go this year

I had a Wedge Resection RLL to remove a Adenocarcinoma tumor. Biggest surgery of my life. Had a 2nd Surgery less than 7 months later. Cancer sucks.

Can I please ask why you needed a 2nd surgery? To my understanding the Wedge Resection should remove all the cancer?

@@dawnrodgers8210 Yes the Wedge Resection was successful but a tumour grew at the site of my Chest Tube insertion. It hurt and was not going away. The Surgeon wanted to see it and operated the following week. Took over an hour to remove. My body rejected the sutures used to closed that area and cells surrounded forming a tumor. Fortunately it was removed and biopsied and Cancer had not evolved yet.

@@emesass5959 I am happy that the cancer had not evolved yet. I hope you are feeling better now. I had my surgery on 2/17 and confirmed Adenocarcinoma and it appears he removed the lower lobe and lymph node dissection as well. I have appt next week for post op to find out further details on how much of lung was removed and hopefully the biopsy from lymph nodes. My surgeon went out of town the morning after my surgery and the residents were useless in providing any info. SMH.... Stay safe and healthy!

@@dawnrodgers8210 I hope all goes well for you. So did you have a tumor that you had to have Surgery? It was a hard time for having VATS/Surgery as COVID19 restrictions did not allow anyone to be at the Hospital. My mother dropped me off and picked me up 5 days later. Was very difficult, traumatic. My Surgeon said he got it all but I always wonder if that is the case. That Chest tube was no joke, I hope to never have that again. Keep well.

@@Ive03 Hanging in there. Hospitals not doing great job. I get many interns, residents, most of whom aren't good. And front office staff isn't good. Hard to find reputable, professional, caring medical professionals without big time insurance, etc.
