In contrast, Rajnath Singh asserted that compensation was provided. The Army stated that Rs 98.39 lakh had been transferred to Ajay Kumar's family. However, some army veterans indicated that the amount given was primarily insurance money, which does not involve the Indian Army and cannot be considered compensation.

thank you sir for bringing out the fact. The people who are not directly affected with this scheme, have very little idea but this Agniveer scheme will lead towards a grave damage. In the time of war we will not be able to bleed because there will be no one who had sweat in peace 4 years is very less time span. If war start it will be continue for years togather. Russia and Isreal are the latest example. Hope that nation will understand and present gov will continue with the pattern of defense tenure as it was erstwhile.

As per me sufficient compensation should be paid to army personnel after his death. The means and modes are least important. Hence a few questions are raised in my mind. Who is paying the premium of SBI and Army insurance? If these are paid by the government then why can't it be treated as compensation from the government? From an economic perspective the government would like to reduce direct expenses in such compensation, so involving Insurance companies in this process. Is this not a good policy? The government is spending that saved money on the purchase of new technologies of arms and ammunition. Is this a wrong policy of government? Surely if sufficient compensation is not received by the family of a dead army person then the question is definitely raised.
