"On the fly" this was his second time doing this story (lost 116) with at least 7 years preparation. There also isn't evidence that he did not have any reference materials when "redoing" the small plates (Emma's comments have no bearing on the nephi-up to Mosiah) I'm sorry, I know you really want this to work.
