You know that scene in RED where Bruce Willis steps out of a car while it's whipping around? Imagine Leatherface stepping out of Christine like that holding his chainsaw

Was at a Jim Rose Circus show once. They had one of their guys run among the audience flailing around a chainsaw. Even if we knew it was safe, it felt absolutely terrifying. Getting chased by a guy with a chainsaw really gets your blood pumping.

That beats the very tall man in the long hooded shroud just 'appearing' then wandering around the York Dungeon. My friend & I were only teenagers at the time - think it might have been our first 'big day out', san parents. So unfortunately, I think, we spoilt his attempt at creating a 'haunting mood' a bit by snorting sarcastically, pointing at him & giggling out loud at the top of our voices. Think our sarcy arses would've appreciated your chainsaw wielder a little more. That's brilliant.

The only real downside to Freddy's glove is the impracticality of it as a stabbing weapon. It'll do great for slashing, but trying to stab someone with it would be awkward the it's done in the films as you wouldn't get the same force behind each blade and fact you might end up breaking your fingers doing it. You'd have to basically bunch your fingers together in like a snake pose and stab underhanded like that.

The Derek Mears comment about acting reminded me of a great anecdotes from Lawrence Olivier on the set of Marathon Man. Dustin Hoffman is a "method" actor, and get "into character" spent days without sleep or changing his clothes. Sir Larry saw him on set and remarked that he looked terrible and asked if he was I'll. Hoffman explained and said how else could he play that scene......Olivier replied "Act dear boy, it's what they pay us for".

If you've never seen "The Mangler"(1995) , I would highly recommend. You can add a sentient evil bed sheet press and an old icebox it transfers part of it's evil soul to that kills a child to the list of evil inanimate objects.

14:00 the old ass man wasn’t real, the actor, John Dugan, was actually nineteen, and in really good makeup. There’s a funny story about a wrangler on the movie who got access to a veterinary clinic because I believe Marilyn Burns interned there, and he was jumping around throwing bones in his knapsack.

I think the reason Castles Michael Myers walk is so good is cause he doesn't think about it, it's like he says walking from a to b. That's whys he's so good is cause Dr Lumas says in Holloween like "I studied him tried to treat him but there's nothing there behind the eyes" so not thinking while walking is perfect cause Michael Myers doesnt think about what hes doing he's killing his family on instinct, so castle not actually trying to think of how to move matches lumas's quote "there nothing there"

27:45 Other way around. The old movies just say he's a psycho murderer (the diddling part is heavily implied in the deleted scenes of the first one) and the Rob Zombie movies are the ones that come out and say "yeah he also diddled them"

Rob Zombie has nothing to do with the Nightmare on Elm St films, he made two Halloween films, also, Freddy did start out as a child molester, the idea was dropped as there was a large child abuse case in the news at the time.

I found out quite recently that Clive Barker was a sex worker in his youth & he had a bit of expertise sub/dom stuff (really, you say?) That was quite an eureka moment when I found that out. Think I bored everyone that day with that fact & & everybody's response was exactly the same - "Oh yeah, wow, makes sense, does that."

18:20 our teacher had a real human skeleton that he'd inherited from his grandfather, possibly great grandfather, who was a doctor. The story we were told: There was a train wreck and this deceased young man was unidentified and unclaimed so he took his horse and wagon and brought the body home in the middle of the night.

Just as ruining the mystique of slasher villains like Michael Myers makes the newer movies less enjoyable; so too is knowing that Rob Zombie’s take on the character really pissed off John Carpenter. And that’s gotta suck when you make your music and movie career showing your love for everything horror and you piss off a horror movie legend like John Carpenter.

34:29 Scott the Woz made a similar rant on his “Gaming Revivals” video comparing the Halloween movies to the Crash Bandicoot games. There were originally three Crash platformer games on PS1, then Wrath of Cortex and Twinsanity on PS2 as the 4th and 5th mainline entries, two more platformers on GBA, a soft reboot in the form of Crash of the Titans and Mind Over Mutant, then a second reboot in the form of the N-Sane Trilogy and top it all off with the direct sequel to N-Sane Trilogy that disregarded every other Crash game from Crash Team Racing to Mind Over Mutant.

Chucky is a forgotten slasher huh?, season 3 of Chucky begs to differ, the consistent release of films since the first, all of them great, begs to differ too. Chucky has never been out of the limelight whereas we haven't had a Freddy or Jason film in over a decade, remakes not withstanding and the new Halloween films are atrocious. For a real forgotten slasher turn to Maniac Cop.
