based on a lot of things i saw from the director he REALLY believed the old Devil May Cry games were lame, and only HE knew what was cool now. He didn't deserve all the hate he got but he also was living in his own world. I'm glad you mentioned they update DMC to change the gameplay, because a lot of people play it now and seem confused why people disliked the gameplay. not realizing it's no longer the same. (they changed it to emulate the original games more)

There is an early 2000's comedy called Grandma's boy, and the main character in that movie works for a video game company. The guy who made DMC reminds me of the main antagonist of that movie. A super edgelord video game dev who treats everyone around him like neanderthals.

To be fair to the barrel beating up Worf episode, that is one of the better episodes of the show that discusses a lot of medical ethics. But yeah they really didn't make that empty barrel look like it was that dangerous to be hit by and the worf effect was terrible.

@@dreadpirate677 honestly his inclusion in ds9 did a lot to recover his character. Since they didn’t need to prove how dangerous the villains were he was actually allowed to win fights.

I love how their view of the Western idea of cool somehow doesn't include a badass with a colossal Western sword, dual-wielding M1911's in a long coat.

they really did miss the idea of what GAMERS thought was cool, like throughout DMC's the highest grossing games were things like nintendo game with pokemon, sonic and mario games. i dont think people were too concerned if their protag was 'movie cool' XD like, GTA 4 is prob as close as they'd get to DINO's concept being popular?

@@StarPichu12And even then Nico from GTA 4 barley fits with Dino. Nico is an abrasive edgy guy because he's an older war veteran, he's dealing with PTSD and a lot of little balls of hatred, and grappling with the fact that all he can do well is kill. Meanwhile Dino is an asshole because he's an orphan, I guess. I'm just saying, one has loads of writing to justify his attitude and one does not.

blew my mind that after the great sales of the first two devil may cry games the only change they really made to 4 was change the main character likely leading to less sells and they thought to correct that by changing the main character, literally.

Even though I'm no expert on translators, but I'm pretty sure they're supposed to act as a telephone between two people. They're only there to tell one person what the other said. This guy really misunderstood his own job, if he thought he was supposed to answer the questions himself.

I bought the avengers game shortly before it was taken off of steam, when it was on sale for 4 euros. They've made it so you always have the XP boost. Just always active.

Would have been cooler if they just had Buck and crew chasing chief. Buck has held himself great against the Covenant. Locke is just a terrible character.

After COD grew up. I didn't even care for Halo as an FPS. But! Master Chief is one of the most badass protagonists in gaming history! I would say up there with Doom guy!

I'm still pissed off at halo infinity for just killing cortana off screen one of the most important characters in the series and the only real family john has. Also they killed off atriox the objectively best villen they have had since h3 only to have him come back in the end credits. WHAT THE FUCK ARE THYE DOING

Although I'm a PlayStation guy I watched lets play of Halo infinity and it feels like an entire game is missing plus in my bias opinion it has the same feel as Star wars 9 spending most of its time erasing the disliked features of the previous game including the one good thing from Halo 4 the Infinity

His helmet can be found attached to one of Bassus’ shoulders The Brute Chieftain who guards the Banished mining drill outside the Conservatory (Had to search it up since I couldn’t quite remember it all)

the only time the new character beating the old character is acceptable, is if right after that the old character does a "you're good,, now for actually try" or a "trop treating me like a kid old man - no". heck, even dmc4 got that

I think Prototype 2 did it well. The entire first game sees your character becoming a huge piece of shit (but still a loveable badass) and the second game you play as somebody else hunting him.

DMC Devil May Cry is a perfect example of someone being sincere but lacking any self-awareness. OG DMC was sincere but aware of how absurd its characters and story were.

So writing this as someone who has never played any of the halo games. If that studio really wanted to write a game with a new character who was better than Master Chef. They should have made them, at least at the start, kinda shit. Have them be a spartan living in the shadow of the god like Master Chef. For that brawl, MAYBE let Spartan lock get a few good hits in, but ultimately lose. Then maybe near the end of the game after some character growth or something, let them do another friendly brawl in which spartan lock barely wins. This doesn’t necessarily diminish the power of Master Chef, but rather strengthen the connection the player has with this new character and make them feel as though they worked for it

Friendly reminder: 343 is a studio comprised primarily of employees who have no attachment to the Halo series. They did this to "try and breathe new life into the games." Unfortunately, in this they also canned literally everyone who cared about the games and knew what the formula was.

It sort of makes sense about Halo. Master Chief is a rank, so the idea people were supposed to imagine themselves within the armour isn't that crazy, But after four games the player base clearly had the shared view that there was a specific person inside the suit.

The best thing would be to have concluded Master Chief's story, then have him step out of the armor, only to reveal he's actually been a woman the whole time a la Samus in the first Metroid game and just never corrected anyone for basically 20 years.

I'll admit, it can't really be a Warf Effect for the Chief if he ever loses to like one other spartan compared to the games where he's played completely like a badass. Master Chief is a great power fantasy but I find it more intriguing when there is someone who can best him. I enjoyed Infinite and how it started with him losing and left floating in space.

To me, there is no "Halo 5: Guardians", jus "5: Guardians"! And I wouldn't mind, but there was a question on the Chase, in the Final Chase no less, where the question was "what is the name of the main character of the Halo Franchise?"! I got it right, obviously, but the Chaser didn't know (might have been Paul "everything gaming comes back to Nintendo" Sinha) and the team guessed - GUESSED - at "Jack"! Now, if they had said "John", I, myself, personally, would have given them that as he is "John-117" after all! And I can tell you that here in the UK, Marvel Avengers was marketed HARD! The ads were on A LOT! Everywhere! And it was a pretty dry release window as well, if memory serves, jus to top it all off!

15:53 - I’m confused. Was the translator part of Microsoft? Shouldn’t the translator have asked the people at Microsoft what they wanted to answer? Why didn’t the Microsoft people know the question? A translator translate. I don’t think they’re supposed to be the ones to answer the question

The thing I love about Halo 5 is it ends on a massive cliffhanger turning Cortana into the new big bad and it's pretty clear Halo 6 was going to be about the war against Cortana and her new army. Even though Halo 5 sold just as well as any other Halo game, Halo 5's reception by fans was so negative that the sequel doesn't directly follow up on that cliffhanger at all. The entire massive war and fallout from Halo 5 happens entirely off screen, in spin-off's, novels and exposition in Halo: Infinite. Plot wise Halo: Infinite is like playing Halo 7 except Halo 6 never actually happened.

I wouldn't have minded halo 5 having Spartan locke show up a lot if he wasn't so fucking boring. Unlike the arbiter he doesn't have an interesting character arc that contrasts the chief's more straightforward story in halo 2, he is just a ripoff of master chief but as an antagonist.

I was as disappointed with Halo5 as everyone else but I feel that the Chief/Locke fight is quite mischaracterized here. I went into the game not having paid attention to the promo stuff so I wasn't overly concerned. In the fight itself, Locke can barely get Chief to even acknowledge him. Locke forces Chief to at least take the time to defend himself against his attack. Then Chief easily disables Locke with his own weapon. There's a lot wrong with Halo5, but this scene is not it.
