I feel like it's worth pointing out that Battleworld, the planet Secret Wars took place on, was an amalgam world created by The Beyonder specifically tailored to grant its inhabitants their deepest desires and provide "ease and ideal conditions" wherever possible. Professor Xavier regained the use of his legs. Ben Grim found himself shifting in and out of his rock form in accordance to how he was feeling about it. Storm and Thor both found that the elements were easier to command, as though the heavens need not be marshalled by force of will. They simply obeyed. Magneto found that Battlworld's magnetic field was seemingly attuned perfectly to his own body and powers so that he barely needed to think, let alone expend effort to levitate. On a world like that, it's easy to see why Peter might not question things so much, genius and consummate skeptic though he may be.

Fun Fact: The reason Spidey didn't question the black suit was because one of the Spider-Womans who was wearing a black suit was also on the planet and Peter liked her costume so when he went to get a new one he was thinking about it and figured the machine read his mind
@jdp35789 ай бұрын
Spiderman getting the black suit was an honest mistake, you see the machine in question could make any kind of clothing, and when spidey went to the machine, he intended to make a suit inspired by the suit spider-woman was wearing during secret wars, which was black with a white symbol. So there was no reason for spidey to think something was off.

There's a really important detail that often gets missed when considering the Venom symbiote's personality. The whole reason it was on Battleworld in the first place was because the tribe of klyntar it belonged to dispised how, instead of draining all its hosts to death, Venom wanted to experience a lifetime bond with a host just like their race used to following the defeat and imprisonment of their god. The reason why so many symbiotes seem to he inherently evil is because unless they bond to someone who's pure of heart, they become corrupted themselves. Their hosts corrupt them just as much as they corrupt their hosts.

The Transamerica Pyramid, which you've told us is a hideout of Doc Ock, is an office building in San Francisco that has a few floors of retail shops at the bottom. It used to be the HQ of an insurance company. Great place for a supervillain to set up shop. I like to think that there's a dentist in the office next to his, and that in the Starbucks in the building's lobby all the baristas know his regular order.

One of my favourite bits with JJJ is Spider-Man saves his ass and JJJ lays into him for the usual shit and Spider-Man snaps and lays into him right back in his face: "I just saved you, saved the city. I have done this multiple times. You bitch and moan about everything I do, why can't you give me a break you asshole?!" and JJJ has a brilliant moment: "Because no-one else does. I keep you grounded. Everyone praised you like a hero, and you are. But no-one criticises you. If I praised you like everyone else I would be a voice in the sea. If you are only praised, you mess up, and when you mess up people die."

Sandman learning how to do glass, considering all the rest of his power set, is hella terrifying. He could pocket-sand you, but in the air transform it into glass. Punch you with the giant fist, but now it's a giant fist with glass knuckles... Those grains in your eye? Glass. And yes, I really want to just see somewhere and empty jar that says "Do Not Break" with no other label, implying that they haven't caught Sandman yet in whatever 'verse the story is set in. I think it's hilarious that the only thing the Sym-bi-ote (trademark Sony Pictures) kept from Deadpool was an echo of medium awareness, and isn't viewing Spider-Man as the "perfect host" but as the most popular, least likely to be cancelled host so it doesn't get written out.

When you mentioned 'Bare Hand Hunting' you reminded me of Prey, a predator movie that takes place in the 1700s and the predator bare hand fights a bear. He also uses a shield against guns, and a 'homing crossbow' against people with bows. It's something worth looking into. It's the only time I saw a predator visibly eat ****, but it only goes to show that they aren't dodging all those shots in other seties. They're tanking it all.

"I'm morally opposed to hunting" Karl, you should go on a hunting trip if you think there's anything wrong about it. It isn't 'easy' or 'unfair' in any way. You won't know that until you do it. Hunters are in very real danger when they're out in the wild. A gun doesn't make you invincible by any means. This does of course depend on some factors, but generally hunting is not a safe or easy thing to do.

I never saw it as unsafe, but I have noticed when we go out, 15 men and half as many dogs, we sometimes only bag one deer and two pigeons. So it's certainly a fair way to thin the herd. This is even without mentioning that if we don't kill a deer or two once in a while, they'll ruin the forest with their eating requirements.
