Necrons and Biel-Tan Eldar has to be one of the funnier ideas for a conflict. I'm not sure how the Swordwind would react to being told that they are on someone else's lawn and that someone else "was here first"

necrons are such an interesting race. so complex. tragic. naive at first.emotionless at the end. the lore here is just 1/5 of their story.

Why did they go to sleep if they were “unable to face their enemy vengeful servants”? What stopped said servants to methodically destroy necron tomb worlds while they slept?

They were hidden and well protected. Just because the necrons were to weak too attack the enemy, doesn't mean they were too weak to defend from the enemy.
