There were so many awesome products showcased at SEMA 2019, but in this video we're taking a closer look at the Rope Retention Pulley from Factor 55. Looks like a lighter, better replacement for a snatch block to me!

Looks great, But I think I will stick with my snatch blocks, to much friction negated the whole purpose of a double line pull...

These things are not as advertised. I've seen several independent reviews on these factor 55 recovery rings and in all of them, the Ring fails to spin and the rope drags across the ring. what happens when you drag a gritty dirty rope across an aluminum surface with 5,000 lb of force on it? The answer is the rope slowly cuts its way through the ring. For $108, it should at least work the way it's supposed to.

I have to wonder how long those tiny silicon tips hold up with regular use, before they break or are too worn to hold up the rope. Can you replace them or do you have to buy a whole new one?

@@dred5375, More like every time the darrn the load slips off center, now all the RUBBER bits are all sheared off! I'm betting that they are 3 fiddy each. Let's add sand to this abomination and see just how long the ropes last! Heck, the "teflon" coating will be gone the first time you use in in a sandey environment!

@@SwellRunner I thought about it after I typed it, and most people ignore a content full of good stuff to complain about one thing. And I did that, Didnt mean to, was just watching them run the rope through, and it was first thing that crossed my mind, having dealt with similar situations before. But In know way was I doubting Factory 55 quality. Way too many awesome reviews on their products out there.

Lets see how long this last when sand is added. Hack just add dirt and see how long it takes to cut through the ropes. I trained in the army to do self recovery with armored vehicles, this abomination is beyond useless. You can tell they don't care because they do not respond to comments.

Factor 55 is SO overpriced that I don't consider anything from them. I paid under $20.00 ea. for my snatch-rings, and they do the same thing, exactly the same thing. Marketing, not real-world value, is what's driving prices to insane levels. I've said "enough", and I think others should, too.

I believe a snatch block would be more efficient and less friction, I love the Factor 55 products but this one will be a hard pass for me.

Just checked the price on all this stuff. WOW? I guess since you need to take out loan for a warn winch you might as well get 4 or 5 hundred more and buy this stuff to go with the winch. When it's all covered in mud it looks just like my harbor freight junk stuff. I will stick with my cheap straps and rusted snatch block and shackles.

Bag needs to be twice that size. You need to factor in what happens when all that pretty stuff is covered with mud, grass ETC.

@@Achisachis73 yeah, that's 1 benefit of it,its lighter, another benefit I would say its if it breaks the rope would catch your winch rope, easier set up,but not as effective as a snatch block, would be effective if the snatch ring had a inside bearing for letting it spin more freely
