No Granada is located in Spain but Grenada (green -a-da) is located in the Caribbean

Arawaks were there before the Caribs and we have an English based creole with French and African influences but also A French Patois that is dying out sadly. However, there is efforts being made to revive it 🎉

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Yes French patois used to be spoken widely in Carriacou, where my family come from, great if these efforts come to fruition. Is it local or done through schools? I suspect education system wouldn't be supportive.

Granada was the original name given from Spain ,the French came and change it to De La Grenade then the British came and change it to Grenada

Actually, the spanish also named the island concepción in 1498, then Granada before the English anglocised the spelling to Grenada @@doreenramsey1016 . The indigenous name of the island was Camáhogne.

The original Caribbean name was Camerhogne. Columbus when he sighted the island called it Concepcion. He never called it Granada but it is true he remarked its topology reminded him of Granada. The name Granada first appeared on Spanish maps many years later. When the French over a century later invaded they renamed it La Grenade. The British who took over a century after that anglicised it to Grenada

Beautiful island I'd love to visit one day, it reminds me a lot of the USVI 🇻🇮 I want to indulge in the food and spices and the beautiful Beaches. They have some nice folks who come from there like a friend of mine. Shout-out to the spice island 🇬🇩for sure

Do you mind kindly withdrawing this video and correctly saying the name of our country. We do not know of any GRANADA in the Caribbean. In Spain yes but not in the Caribbean. You did all this research and STILL got the name wrong.

Only 3 islands made up Grenada , which is Grenada ,Carriacou and Petite Martinique ,Callaloo is not Spinach, Callaloo is from a Taro root family

Grenada is one country. The tri-island state comprises the 3 islands, namely, Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. The uninhabited isles are sometimes called Grenadines but it's not so commonly used.

I would have to agree regarding the name of the island, its Grenada not Granada, Granada is actually in spain , California also has the same name. There is also a Grenada in Mississippi, just an fyi.

The name of.that island should not pronounced as G-r-a-n-a-d-a only as G-r-e-n-a-d-a. I had visited that island less than five years ago in celebration of my mother's 80th Birthday which was where she was born.

We do not speak Creoles, we are Africans not Taino Arawak or kalinagoes. We speak broken English. Creoles is part Spanish, Portuguese and French mixed and it belongs to Taino Arawak and kalinagoes.

Ok, the taino/arowak people were on majority of the islands first including my ancestral home of Grenada and Xaymaca(Jamaica). Please don't leave us out. Also use a real human voice. Computers never pronounce the name properly. Also tourism is not what the island depends on but agriculture.

I give a👎🏾 because of the constant mispronunciations of the name of the country. When using a bot to narrate, make sure it is "pronouncing" names correctly and not repeating things over and over. With that said, I will be visiting soon!
