FDR was not visible to most of the country. There were photos (in which he was never shown in his wheelchair), and there was radio. Biden has the disadvantage of being plainly visible to everyone, so those bad moments can't be covered up.

Biden is fine with speeches when he has a teleprompter feeding his mind words and sentences. Without it he completely falls apart though. His actual brain/mind is broken. It can read, it can even speak pretty OK despite his stutter. But it is mush without prompts, and he completed melted under the pressure of a simple debate... He is lost and confused and I do not trust him with military and national security decision making as a result because that is WAY more difficult. I do not trust for a moment that anyone is actually even listening to him on these issues - but that is an issue TOO, who IS making those serious decisions? Because it is not Joe Biden. And if it is actually him, then that is completely terrifying after that debate last night.

This debate was a low energy from Biden and very well rehearsed propaganda rant from Trump. While Biden presented quiet epistemic humility, even though stuttered, it was ALL facts. Trump was ranting in a loud MAGA cadence, but he didn’t say a ONE single truthful argument. When you still didn’t know who and why to vote yesterday, more precisely who to vote against to preserve democratic processes and world order, this debate could hardly change any reasonable decision of yours. Which can be, probably, changed many times within next 5 months. Yesterday was no biggie; remember how Romney decimated Obama in debate in Denver? One night optics in comparison with all Biden’s achievements? Come on!

My concern is that he has significantly aged in the last four years and will only age more in the next four. He may have had a cold, a bad debate night, and a problem with stuttering. That's not the problem. The problem is that he's aging rapidly as do most presidents while in office. At 81, he's not going to be able to be effective as president for four more years until 85.

Biden's debate-prep team blew it big time. He was not well-rested and alert - and was so over-coached, he could hardly remember any of their complex talking points they tried to cram into him.
