Once upon a time, circuses would bring freaks, which was their rather cruel way of describing anybody who was different, to local areas for people to point and laugh at. Thankfully, in this day and age, we are far more civilised and don’t get our entertainment by mocking people who are different to us. Ooooh, satire! Let’s hop into a time machine and travel back to those vicious old days. These are 20 circus freaks that actually existed!

On behalf of your viewers in the U.S., would you consider presenting statistics in Feet and inches instead of just using metrics.? I know metrics are more common worldwide, but I'd be willing to bet half of your viewers are in the U.S. and rattling off these metric numbers so quickly doesn't even give you time to make the conversions unless we repeatedly stop and calculate it. Thanks.

The gentleman you described as jack Earle was not the pictures you showed. You showed Robert Wadlow in most of the pics. Also you could have included that Grady stiles jr was a convicted murderer and ended up being murdered himself.

Check your facts. Myrtle (4-legged woman) did NOT have two normal legs. One was normal, the other was a club foot. She had diffulty walking. The two inner legs never developed beyond a parasite.

These people were treated like circus animals, they got a minute amount of money off their owners and lived in squalor, they are not freaks.
