Diff'rent Strokes remains one of the most popular American sitcoms from the 1970s and 1980s. The show’s premise about two young black children being adopted by a rich white man after their mother, his housekeeper, passed away was rather unique. This led to one of the funniest and most touching shows of all time. And it’s all thanks to the great cast.

Tragically, several cast members from Diff'rent Strokes faced untimely deaths, which deeply impacted the show's legacy. One of the most well-known actors from the series, Gary Coleman, had a tumultuous life both during and after the show. Despite his success as Arnold Jackson, Coleman faced financial difficulties and legal troubles. He passed away in 2010 at the age of 42 from a brain hemorrhage.
Another cast member who faced a challenging life was Dana Plato, who portrayed Kimberly Drummond. Sadly, her life was filled with one tragedy after the next and she found it difficult to transition to different roles after the show ended. Her life was cut short when she died from a drug overdose in 1999 at the age of 34.
Conrad Bain, who played the patriarch figure, Phillip Drummond, had a long and successful career both before and after Diff'rent Strokes. He appeared in numerous television shows and films, but his portrayal of Drummond was one of his most memorable roles. Bain passed away in 2013 at the age of 89, and he’s still remembered as one of the best TV actors of all time.
While the deaths of these cast members were tragic, it is important to remember their contributions to the entertainment industry. Diff'rent Strokes brought these actors into the spotlight and allowed them to touch the hearts of millions through their performances. Despite their personal struggles, their characters on the show brought joy, laughter, and important life lessons to audiences around the world.

Dana Plato was just too beautiful for an end to life like that. RIP 🪦. And Gary Coleman, he was the greatest who spent his entire life defending his integrity. They both lived tragic lives and I am so sorry it ended like that for them. RIP 🪦.

I loved the show when i was a kid..later i remember Todd and Dana struggling with addictions and couldnt understand why they couldnt just get right until i ended up personaly going through addiction issues myself for many years..Its something I don't wish on anybody..I make five years clean in November. And i now help others to stay clean.. But many relapse and dont make it..Its very heartbreaking to witness. Dana Plato didnt make it but Todd Bridges did..As hard as it may sound some have to die for others to live when it comes to addiction..But no addict needs to suffer. Because we can, and we do recover..Rip Dana Plato and the rest of the cast..

Beautiful cast which was a strength and accessibility fod audiences around the world There was something about that as an ensemble that is extremely magical and extremely rare and in many ways shows like the Golden Girls, the early seasons of Rosanne had a similar ensemble magic to rhem Gary and Dana had such tragic lives in the end i whilst i still love watching them, it is heartbreaking. Gary was literally one of the greatest child stars of all time. Nobody in the 70s onwards could touch and likely he is the last of that particular Hollywood legacy.

MY FAVORITE EPISODE WAS ---- SAM'S NEW PAL. IT SHOWS THAT WE SHOULD ALWAYS JUDGE PEOPLE FOR WHO THEY ARE NOT WHAT THEY ARE. MY SECOND FAVORITE EPISODE WAS--- COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS. AT THE END OF THE EPISODE ARNOLD HAS A MUCH MORE REALISTIC UNDERSTANDING OF THE FACT THAT THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE THAT ARE IN MUCH MORE OF A BAD SITUATION THAN HE IS JUST BECAUSE HE IS SHORTER THAN AVERAGE. THE CHARACTER OF SAM ALMOST COMPLETELY RUINED THE SHOW BECAUSE HE WAS SIMPLY NOT BELIEVABLE TO ME ESPECIALLY WITH THAT RIDICULOUS SOUP BOWL HAIRCUT. ANYTIME THAT A CHARACTER THAT IS NOT BELIEVABLE IS PUT WITH CHARACTERS THAT ARE BELIEVABLE IT ALMOST NEVER WORKS OUT!!! ALSO THE FIRST ACTRESS THAT PLAYED HIS MOTHER WAS TERRIBLE BECAUSE OF THAT ACCENT THAT SOUNDED SO FAKE EVEN THOUGH IT MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN!!! THE 2ND ACTRESS THAT PLAYED SAM'S MOTHER WAS SO MUCH BETTER BECAUSE SHE WAS SO MUCH MORE BELIEVABLE TO SAY THE LEAST!!!
