I find this interesting. The bagpipes don't personally appeal to me but they are certainly no less than any other instrument. This young lady is actually sounds really good from my limited knowledge and exposer to the Bagpipes. I found this video after stumbling onto the short video this young lady posted on the Metallica comments by a random person and how Metallica replied back. It's nice to appreciate other people's talents applied to songs (in this case a cover). No matter your choice of instrument it takes talent and time to learn and get good. I love the song Fade To Black and she and her two band mates to a nice job here. I wish her well as she continues on her musical journey!

How do you mic your bagpipes? Are there pickups that you attach? Do you just play near a stage mic and let it pick up the sound? Just curious. I know pipes can be loud, but you are often competing with a guitarist and drummer (and on your recent tour a heavily amplified electric violin) … how do you punch through in the mix?
