The Faemina has a unique pre-infusion feature--you are not using it: pull the lever down ca. 3/4" (no more!), the split piston opens to allow a small amount of liquid into the grinds; wait c. 12 seconds, then do your normal full-stroke extraction. One for "single" espresso, two for "double" espresso.
