Most states are disallowing outlets on islands anymore. They are dangerous and GFCI is only a precautionary thing, not fool proof. Finish trim tip is cut it long and trim to fit,, but no one notices the toe kick unless it isn't there. You guys have done a great job 🗿👽🗿👽🗿

The house is looking great. Small tip from a trim guy, paint the trim, cope it, then hang it. That leaves you only having to touch up the nail holes.

If you didn't already know, you can use cheap golf shoes (the ones with the spikes on them), you can walk around on your epoxy floors while they are still wet without damaging the surface. It makes it easier to get it into every corner and make to make sure it is leveled out. After it starts to set up, you can't walk on the epoxy with those shoes anymore.

Murrie, you mentioned a seam on the island panel is hardly noticeable. If you feel it's hardly noticeable then others will never notice. In the DIY world we know about little things that may not be perfect but the furnishings, decorations and design features are what folks will see. Your house is looking great !

Pocket doors, one of my least favorite doors to hang and trim out. Hint: hang the door before installing the trim, 😆.

It's actually called toe kick when it's under the cabinet not baseboard.

Just realized, I watch the house construction more than FabRats or the B&M Conex Shop episodes: this is getting weird because this is exactly how we built my aunt's house and it was a similar design -- it was all us cousins were grandma's summer construction crew [Edit: go get your contractors license -- you are probably in the owner-builder loophole, I built my house the same w/o a license -- that would be a good episode as you study for the exam]

Same woodstove as my wife & I use. Probably a larger size than ours, being our home is under 900 square feet. Looking good.

The house looks great. You are getting there. I am a domestic building contractor living in Sydney Australia. We use a lot of metal wall and roof cladding that is called Zincalume. It is a bonded combination of painted Zinc and Aluminium in a colour. Why does your wall cladding have rust on it? Will you paint it or is that the desired finish? I thought things didn't rust in your climate. Thanks Jeff
