One of my biggest pet peves is added sound effects. The "wild police chase" TV series were notorious for siren and tire noises and made them unbearable to watch.

It’s actually a good idea a lot of the time, better than taking off from rough surfaces that will fuck up your drone. You just have to practice it and be careful, and not do it how he did.

I hand launch and hand catch all the time when I'm in rocky or sandy areas. But I practiced a lot, slowly, at home first before doing it in the field. It's not just about the catch, it's also largely about feathering the controls properly so you bring it down gently and slowly.

I don't know. But for me as a German student a drone is 6 months of work, if you save on everything, but rent and food. That's the reason, why i am extra careful.

@@hansmuller1933 Try using a flight controller. For instance - fully equiped Pixhawk4 has fly mode for begginers, can hold altitude, has GPS and etc. It makes a lot easier to learn flying (but it comes with a price too).

How unutterably careless can you get? I’ve had my drone for about six months and nothing like this has ever happened! Never fly it indoors, unless you’re in a large sports or exhibition hall. Never fly it in high winds. Never let anyone throw anything at it, and be careful near water. It’s all common f* sense really!

5:10 To be honest the pilot of the drone shouldn’t blame the guy who threw it after catching it. He kept the throttle like those blades are nothing and the drone would just fly out of his hands or something.

@@localtortoise it actually doesn’t only happen on tv haha. I live abroad from my birth place and I do this all the time with my friends. If another person speaks my mother tongue I will address him most of the time in English so all the others understand but if I want to talk faster or say something that can’t really be said in English for example I switch just the time to say it.

Having a drone is a huge responsibility. Just make sure you don't make it bump into stuff. Even if it's hard to control. And for the love of god don't touch the propellers(1:08) And don't use it around dogs(1:26, 6:29, 7:37)

1:40 that's a Syma. In my commercial drone pilot course we used those as beginner drones because they can survive a crash like that basically unharmed. That's what that drone is made for.

I fly my drone over water too (mavic mini). Flying over water is completly fine if you 1. Have a decent drone (No crappy $50) 2. Dont be an idiot 3. Keep an eye on your battery level. (Drones like ones from DJI say when you should return, then just go...)

If I ever got a drone, this is what I learned 1. Don't fly near any type of water 2. Do not fly near any animals, wild or pets 3. Do not fly anywhere near trees 4. Do not fly it near anybody 5. Do not fly on or near cliffs 6. Do not fly it near moving vehicles 7. Check weather for wind speed 8. Do not fly it in an enclosed space 9. Fly in the empty vast desert that is only sand for kms around 10. Read instructions on how to use it and watch how experts use similar model

it got ruined for everyone with the current XXXXXXXXXX laws in north America and Europe. Applies to anything really , cars , motorcycles , drones , alcohol , guns . there will always be idiots , who ruin it for the sensible people , then the lawmakers turn up , for " safety " reasons.
