I was on the far end of that narrow bit, camping in the bottom lands, 5-6 years ago. We heard, then saw a guy on a BMW adventure bike come thru that “portal”. By the time he showed up in our camp he was pretty spooked, having nearly slid into the river a few times, walked it here and there, and by then basically running on fumes. Filled him up from our spare gas, shared his whiskey, all good. Nutty that that shows as a “road” on maps! I’ve only been across it on foot and on the fat tire bike…

I love the "failed" videos. They are a success. Just shows that even with the best made plans, there are still frustrations in the lifestyle, which, by the way, is part of the appeal of the lifestyle. Some of my favorite spots, became favorites, not because of their beauty and esthetics, but because of a lack of planning. I found a somewhat remote campground off Hwy140, crossing the Oregon/Nevada border, with a warm spring, called Virgin Valley Campground, that is now one of my favorite places to spend a couple of days while traveling in that area.

Thanks for another excellent episode, Jason. I appreciate all the work you put into making it smooth and beautiful. We were out in Big Bend NP recently, heading down the Terlingua Ranch to Marathon Road. Recent rains had created a very large wash-out which we couldn’t get across in our long wheel-base F-350. We had to back up a half a mile before we found a place to turn around. Rock On

Jason, I didn't notice it when I watched this video over a week ago, and if it's already been brought up please just ignore this. I came back to watch part 1 again before watching pt2, and unless I'm looking at this wrong I think you meant to put 2022 on the title of this video. Anyway, I'm loving this adventure so far, can't wait for more. Be safe brother.

I love that area. Have you thought about listing date of your travels in each videos? We are looking for a place to explore over the Thanksgiving week. Today 4 inches 0f new snow at our cabin. USFS has closed roads in our area this week and that means head east. So many places to explore and not enough time. Keep up the good work.

HEIGHT IN ROLLOVERS, the center of your axles to the very top on the van , i mean including the boxes or tires the very top times 67% is what your allowed before rollover, example, 10 feet, height x the width of the outside of the tires say 7'-0"= 70 x67%= is 46.9 " for the start of rollover , now this is on level ground like a street or freeway, but on a slope of a hill side, the rollover is much greater. looking at the picture of the van , i say within 1 foot for the rollover,! i m building a hydralic system . in my truck that will move the whole truck opposite or leaning to the hill slope to prevent the rollover from happening? i got the idea from a 12 ton forklift, with a boom like as crane , that you see on construction sites, ? i can lean my truck over to 80% from center level.should be ready around march 2023 , i ll show it on a video, WEIGHT TRANFER?
