Not gonna lie, that “not a dovetail tutorial” made more sense than 99% of the dovetail tutorials I’ve watched. 🤷‍♂️😎

Mike, really, three weeks grounded for making a funny face? I think it was great. I love it when folks include family, pets, snippets of nature, etc. In their videos. Introduce us to him.

I think a loaf of sliced wonder bread would have been a nice contrast for the final shot.

Great project and video, thanks for taking the time to capture everything. Love the part with the board hitting your planer while using the table saw sled. It's funny because it's so true and relatable. I can totally see myself doing that exact same thing, but it would have probably taken me half a day to figure it out, after disassembling and rebuilding the sled about 10 times, then taking the table saw apart to see why it's sticking!

Still drooling over how good that top edge blended. It looks awesome. The brass was a nice touch.

Great content Mike. I need to a) build a crosscut sled and b) dial in my dovetail skills. You provided plenty of ways to improve ones joinery techniques. Thanks for taking your time to lead us through the processes for this breadbox build!

Fantastic video Mike. I’ve wanted to try a tambour project for a long time and your video has given me the confidence to give it a go. Love the honesty in the video showing the mistakes and how you fixed them. Keep these videos coming.

Book matches are so magical! I made a bread box like that in h.s. shop class. I'm sure it was pine and different joinery, but similar design. 😄

As I'm sitting here watching this, I am thinking about being able to make the Tambour track tenons cut using the Origin. You could cut the slats, then batch out the tenons on each end.
@CoffeyCustomBuilds
@CoffeyCustomBuilds Ай бұрын
Yeah doing tenons on the origin would an option for sure!

You probably already know this now, but I find it much easier to cut the rabbits from the solid piece before cutting it into individual staves

Sorry for the delay! I updated them to need fewer templates and so you don't need to remove nearly as much material for it to work. Here's the link: www.coffeycustombuilds.com/shop/p/breadbox-templates

How long did you let the pieces rest after you re-sawed them? I am wondering if that’s why you had to clean them up with hand tools
