Caddie Billy Foster is one of the most colourful characters in the world of golf who has graced the sport for over 40 years during which time he has worked for some of the game’s biggest names including Seve Ballesteros, Darren Clarke, Lee Westwood, Matt Fitzpatrick and Tiger Woods.
As he entered his fifth decade on the bag, his golfing CV included 40+ tournament victories, Ryder Cup wins, money list and world ranking glory but it was missing a major title with Foster having suffered a series of agonising near-misses.
That would all change in 2022 as he helped steer Englishman Matt Fitzpatrick to a memorable and emotional U.S. Open victory at The Country Club in Brookline.
