Your journals are magnificent; truly heirloom quality. One of the things I admire most about your journals is how many pages, tags, journal cards etc are painted and decorated by yourself, rather than simply using commercial or digital papers (which are, after all, some one else's work). The tiny fairies you have made are exquisite and there is just so much to discover in your journals. You are one very talented journal maker. Thanks for sharing all your ideas. I love them! Stunning and huge fairy journal. Love the story that goes with it, Emily meets different fairies. I'd love a tutorial on how you make your little fairies you have tucked in the pickets, they're adorable. I want to make some.

I just loved watching this video about your Fairy Journal!! Your journal is fantastic, but what really caught my attention were the darling little fairy dolls that you made!! This is amazing if author’s regularly made things like this for their stories it would be so immersive , just imagining reading the story and then going through the journal seems so magical. I can imagine tramping through the woods in look of fairies and collecting little leaves and flowers and all kinds of things to put in the journal and add my own little bits, what they might eat things they like just like a little field guide

Holly-Molly, Mare! That is a gator-mouth for sure! It might be as big mouthed as one of Barbara's (49dragonflies) journals. It is such a piece of art though. I love the first page where you've sewn the "setting" of the story into the page. I also really like the pages with the archways through the forest that you created with pastels and other media. One of the things I'm most impressed with though is your creation of little fairy dolls through out the journal - and tiny "artifacts" or treasures they've left for the owner of the journal. So imaginative and magical. Great job.

this makes me so happy! when I was younger I would search for fairies and check out books similar to this one non-stop; my Grandmother passed a few months ago and she loved fairies as much as I did, this reminds me of her so much! Beautiful journal 💞

This is the most enchanting art journal I have ever seen. I have viewed this a dozen times and e every time I see something new. Have you been published in an Art Journal? If not you should be. Would you ever consider offering classes on how to make a fairy journal? I am charmed by this wonderful piece.

Thank you, Shannon! I've been in a book by Schiffer publishing and will be in another book later this year-no Art Journal or magazine, but would love to be. I may have to consider offering classes at some point. :) Thanks again!

Hi there Mare, I just now stumbled upon you here, and so glad that I did. What an amazing book this is! I don't think that you left out any single details...at all! It's so obvious, that each page has your passion worked into it. And each of the little fairy "dolls" are like real children to you! Are you sure you will even be able to part with this stunning book? Mare, one detail I really loved about your video, is you gave us a look inside this beauty, but didn't spend 10 minutes on each and every single detail. For that I truly thank you! I also see that you are from northern Michigan. I was born n raised in Mich. as well, but not in the north area as are you. I can so understand living in all that beauty, how you could make this your lively hood. I just subscribed, and cannot wait to see what other creations you have made on here!
