A couple of things to consider going into this story: 1) the dragon gods were as strong as Acnologia 100 years ago (since that's when the quest was created and we can assume that it was around that time that the master had his last encounter with them) so they're unlike to be in the same level as he was in the end of FT (because of the time rift). Although it's been 100 years, so those dragons could've become stronger or weaker than they were then. Either way it seems that they at least have layed low while Acnologia was active. 2) Gildarts did lose part of his body because of Acnologia, but we don't know the details yet. Maybe Acno was part of the 100yq, maybe Gildarts ran into him while looking for the dragon gods, or maybe their encounter was a complete accident. 3) more will be revealed later about the dragon gods. But judging only from the masters words we can assume that even though the dragon gods are currently quiet the moment they decide to act up something terrible will happen. Personally if I could seal away a vulcano near my house and guarantee my safety I wouldn't pass the opportunity just because there hasn't been an eruption in a 100 years.

@@joshbrosh6626There's a reason why they were laying low which will become apparant later on in the story. But Gildarts actually encountered Acnologia on Ishgar, on the same mountain where Irene fought Acnologia in the original series.

Your point 2) as I see it goes like this imo: gildarts was on the quest searching for the pentadrakes but he encountered acno instead and mistook him for one of them. As for why acno was there, he probably was attracted by the enormous power there, but he still couldn't find anything cause the pentadrakes were pretty much hiding from him.

I read the manga and I didn't clearly get if u caught up or no so spoilers ahead 150 years ago they were much younger so like most beasts they weren't at their full potential they were "teenagers" ofc some of them didn't get much improvement Mercophobia and Aldoron and some got stronger because they actively saught power like Ignia and dogmarag although Dogma is the weakest cuz like genetics and gildarts' damage was from acno and acno was drawn to his power in ishgar cuz we know in terms of raw fire power he exceed august he beat him with exp and hacks also the volcano analogy is spot on but here's another thing to consider as I said they were akin to teenagers so they did dumb shit with even greater bloodthirst than humans and way more power to use and he made the quest for himself not for the "good for the ppl" we know in ft that quests are mostly paid requests rather than shows like demon slayer and those alike where quests are for clear higher purpose ofc this is my understanding anyone willing to debate respectfully u're welcome

Wendy enchanted All of the other 6 in one strike So technically Natsu defeated him and acnologia couldn't move cuz he's body was sealed into the Fairy Sphere and The dragon magic slayer damaged his Soul

It won't be weekly since the manga releases biweekly,so there is not enough content for a weekly anime. It's said to be 25 episodes which will most likely cover the first 2 arcs of the 100yq. With the exception of one I liked all of the other dragon gods so I'm very excited how the anime will do it.

Nah, the manga has nothing to do with will the anime come out weekly or not. It's 3 chapters per episode. That means 63 chapters for season one. Another 60 for season two. There could be or not a bit of a pause after that (depending if the manga finnishes) before the third season drops with remaining 60 or more chapters.

It's just straight continuation. You're going to get more characters development, more relationships, more references from different arcs. Looking like the pacing is going to be faster because they adapting 3-4 chapters per episode. All this long they only adapting 2 chapters per episode. It's going to be fast pacing actions.

interesting that they were as strong as acnologia but they stayed hidden away because acnologia had a big advantage over them, that he could eat any kind of magic power and make himself stronger so, if any of the dragon gods fought on equal terms with acnologia he could just eat whatever shit they threw at him and make him stronger and they couldn't risk it

When Gildarts was on 100 Yars quest he mistake one of the dragon gods for Acnologia thats why he lost limbs and dragon gods are not on the same level as Acnologia, one of the Dragon Gods was fighting Acnologia 100 years ago and went into hiding because of it so they are not on the same level of strenght

Bet there must be a reason for it ..and we the manga reader are suspecting Elefseria to be a villain as well.. there's something concerning about him and in manga right now Natsu's team is on the progress to seal the last dragon god but the manga is still not at the final arc yet + in the Margia Dragon Guild there's a stone slate that consists a sketch of Dragon Gods that's where Elefseria could know when Natsu's team finally managed to SEAL a dragon god, but at the center of the stone slate there's one gem which what makes the stone slate hangs on the wall, i bet there's something more to be revealed behind the stone slate..so yeah it's still just a theory btw... And i could say Acno is still the strongest villain, the dragon gods are just a pro-claimed title given by the people Guiltina

Besides, A1 pictures is really good. I would rather them animating 100 yrs quest than JC staff, but ohh well....

@@_Minos as far as I know, A1 pictures was involved in all of the first 3 seasons. The first season was A1 + satellite studios, second season was A1 + Bridge, then the third season was A1 + Bridge + cloverworks.

Gildart went alone, he knew the consequences, it might cost his own life. He couldn't bear to lose a comrade on such most dangerous quest. Besides, he's a solo traveler. The brief example of similar tragedy is what had happened to Lisanna when she was accompanying her sister on high level quest. She was presumed dead and Gildart was shocked to hear it after his failure attempt of 100 years quest. Natsu might have a chance in number, but one clear thing to put in mind that the more doesn't always mean the merrier. It's gonna be even harder to watch after each other, even though they got stronger after facing Alvarez Empire last year. Five dragons on par with Acnologia to beat sounds.....

Oh man, damn it... This is the anime of my childhood. I can't even explain how emotionally attached I am, but they just can't do it right, it doesn't work. Where are those old openings, the endings, the magic circles, they completely removed them as if they never existed. The color palettes are weird, the colors of the magic are different from the old seasons. Natsu's is very light, it doesn't give the same feeling as the old seasons. Juvia's voice actor changed, her voice is different. Just two days ago, I was watching the last episodes of the first season and I missed it so much. When I heard that the 100 Years Quest was coming out, I was happy to see this anime again, but it just doesn't satisfy. This anime is so valuable to me. I was so young when I first watched it that I didn't even know the language was Japanese. My childhood passed with its songs, it has such a nostalgic feeling, that's why I criticize it so much because I can't get that old feeling... It really hurts my heart. Seriously, friends, don't get too attached to anything, a piece of advice from me. Somehow, it always ends up hurting.

This first season of FT100YQ will be 25 eps, most likely we will only see animated up to Aldoron's arc who is the second dragon god. Imo, the first 3 arc of 100YQ were good. Viernes's arc was just so boring. And right now we are in the beginning of the the las arc. And the premise sounds really good

So excited to live in a timeline where the 100yq is getting animated lmao. I also really like the general idea for the plot. The 100yq was mentioned way back when in early fairy tail (maybe even when Lucy first joined but I’m not sure) so it’s neat that this isn’t a new concept in FT lore. This quest has been there the whole time, and after the whole ordeal with Zeref, it makes sense that as the guild’s power has grown Natsu and co would want to take in this “unbeatable challenge” afterwards. Because realistically, where else do you go from defeating Zeref and Aconologia lol. Also agree that I am a little worried about the quality dipping, FT has a history of starting out strong but mishandling the ending so we’ll see. As long as I get to see certain manga chapters animated (not to spoil anything, but that involves a certain Rainhill) I’ll be happy😂

Wasn't it the other way around? Those 5 dragons hid themselves on another continent to get away from Acnologia's dragon purge (festival). Then, they slowly became stronger and stronger until present day, where their strength is now around Acnologia's strength

For the looks of it, they are still carrying that baggage from how they reacted to being 5 dragon gods, which is understandable given that they only recently finished those episodes.

Even the art style is not better than the past seasons the animation was much smother than the PowerPoint animation of the fairy tail 2014 to final season 😂

Chat if you're just being dxmb anyways here's the explanation. Acnologia eat the time rift he got the power boost (control over time and space) SBT, but the price acnologia got excluded on his material body and his power got half. Basically Acnologia (dragon form) is just a rampage vessel and his thought or mind is in SBT, Dragon form just got sealed not died. Thought and mind got erase from existence. This is why anime only should not spout nonsense. Fairy Tail is a manga that you need brain... this is not an anime that only use a shout "bankai" and will won in instant or this is not an anime who just "haki" that instantly you're supeior to others.
