This reminded me of what Jesus said in John 14:15, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” And knowing how weak we are, he immediately followed that with verses 16 and 17, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.” So, we need to be aware of how weak we are to obey and rely on the Holy Spirit to help us obey.

This was the first time that I truly equated faith with a life of obedience.

Having a personal intimate relationship with Jesus is the only way to true life of faith and obedience.

James writes '"You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.' Paul writes in Romans 'faith comes from hearing the message'. In order to be obedient to Him we need to discern what his will is by becoming familiar with His word. At the other end of the process, this results in the outworking of faith: obedience.

I have really enjoyed this series and look forward to every new video. I have been following the Bruderhof for a few years now as I am very intrigued by Christian Community vs. the world system Im tired of being trapped in. We were all set to visit Spring Valley last year but plans changed and we had to cancel. Hope to visit this year though. We live in WV about 2.5 hours away. I have a friend who was in MorganTown WV this weekend and I told him he should drive by the Bruderhof house there (he enjoys the content also) but said the property was for sale. Did the Morgan Town house move or was it shut down? Just curious.

I call the picture of Dirk Willems "the great icon of anabaptism". I do think the Bible is important--how far would Christianity have drifted from its roots without it--the several centuries of Christianity it did not exist. The church came first and it created the Bible in an act of a great revival. At least that is one way I think of it. Today it is very popular to be a Bible lawyer and argue it into obliteration or talk out a lot of stuff that people told you that said your whole life. I use to think that what the NT said about works was many Protestants ideas of legalism. Then I thought it was talking about Catholic rituals. But really Paul is referring to Mosaic law or the six hundred and something rituals that Jews are supposed to do...I am not saying to scrap the Bible or to scrap doctrine but if we just tried to live out the Sermon on the Mount alone, we would get a very long way. People may accuse us of trying to be like the Samaritans for gutting out text but the ones mentioned were spiritually good...they did die out though.

The "will of the Father" is the key word here. It has many names in the Scripture; Law of Christ", Spirit of the Law", Law of Liberty. In the "Sermon on the Mount" Jesus reviled some of it, but was it all? Certainly not. "Do not muzzle your ox" wasn't written to oxen, and it's intent, it's spirit is explained clearly in 1Tim.5;18. And here we have the purpose of all six hundred and something commandments in the Scripture, by the way. And Yes, Faith is Obedience and even Hbr. 'emunah' means "faithfulness" that is obedience. But obedience to what? Paul was prosecuting Christians because of obedience to God. Act.9. "Holy Inquisition" killed Christians thinking that they are obedient to God's will too. So the Protestants killed those who disagreed with them thinking this same (Calvin v Servetus). Now Israeli soldiers kill Palestinians thinking that this is justified killing, "defending God given land". Obedience on its own is very dangerous, and that's why Jesus will say "Go away doers of unrighteousness", and that's why we need to understand and associate our obedience to the Spirit of God's Law.

Let me criticizing your work as I noticed that your subtitle translation panel allows some languages not to all... Not only you but also your pastor rooming around countryside as preaching, he also allow few languages. Kindly let me remind you that Our Lord Jesus served to all nations. Hope you will open your subtitle language panel to all languages, this is not costing you any additional money. May Lord give you his wisdom more. May Lord grove your community with his light.
