I was a teen in the 80s and had the great fortune of seeing Steve Perry and Journey at the height of their career. I remember standing in the old Civic Arena with chills throughout my body, and tears runnng down my face swaying back and forth lighter held high. I never in my life thought I would hear a cover that moved me as much as the original... until today. Unbelievable. Thank you for allowing me to relive that memory.

Music should move you....having said that I will say that I'm a HUGE Journey fan. This cover moves me to tears, so much emotion in your voice, what a fabulous job! No matter how many times I hear this, tears stream uncontrollably! My fiance found this and shared it with my about 2 years ago and I would love to have this played as I walk down the aisle towards him, the man I've known for half of my life, the man I should have married long ago.....THANK YOU Boyce Avenue for this song as well as all the others, we truly enjoy them!!

This song has a deep meaning for anyone who feels far from their loved ones. Musicians, soldiers, sailors, fishermen, journalists, anyone. Keeping love and longing from a distance is very heavy, but so valuable. There is always the challenge of maintaining love, integrity and mutual trust is the key. "Journey" can photograph such things in a legendary ballad song and full of melodic nuances. The melody of guitar melodies in this song is very fitting and hits the atmosphere of longing. This is one of the most beautiful covers I've heard in quite a while. This song means so much to my lady and I. I may look like a "tough" guy and no song has ever broken me down into tears like this song has. Tears are actually flowing as I type this. The reason being is because I'm in a long distance relationship. If you are lucky enough to have the love of your life right beside you every day, don't throw it away! Cherish every single bit of it through the bad and good. One day you will regret it. We only live once..don't waste it.

He has got t be by far the best singer i have ever heard in my life of 43 yrs, ....He brings tears to my eyes with every song he sings...He is a true miracle, and God sent to those who need him in there lives who suffer with everyday struggles, cause when i listen to him , i go somewhere else and forget that i have cancer.....thank you so much Boyce Avenue....your my one way ticket to happiness, even if it is only short lived......keep singing. please.......

No matter how good this accoustic version is, there will be people out there who don't want to admit it. They insult it, and humble it. Don't be naive. Hoping that a mocker doesn't mock is naive, hoping that an insulter who doesn't insult is naive. Keep working, because working is harder than commenting. But each of us will only be remembered for the work we produce. A person with high musical taste will surely admire this such a good acoustic work. Bravo Boyce Avenue.

I understand why people wouldn't like this if they're super fans of classic rock - this version is a gorgeous folky version. I think it's important to remember that listeners are allowed their own taste. I personally dig this version :-)

So beautiful. I've been a Journey and moreso a Steve Perry fan my whole life so it's not often I say this but you guys did a fantastic job and I think Steve would love it. It is so hard to cover his songs because his voice is SO powerful but you guys did it right. You have a lot to be proud of!

This used to me my father's favorite song and i can't believed that its has been 11 years since he passed away because of lung cancer, i still remember him every time i hear this song, its so good and it brings me nostalgia, i am happy to say that this also became one of my favourites Im 17 now and im still listing to this song

I met the love of my life in April 2018, she’s a traveling musician and performer. We were also long distance. I really wanted this to be our wedding song, yes this version. It describes us perfectly and it’s one of my favorite love songs ever. We aren’t together anymore but I’ll always love her. Thank you for doing the only cover that’s acceptable in my eyes/ears.

This is the song my husband and I have called "ours" since it's original release. This is the most beautiful cover I've ever heard and it will become a regular part of my play list. You need to be a super star! What talent!! ✨
