I must have seen one of his very last performances at Ministry of Sound Orchestra two years ago. He looked really frail and was walking with a cane but was loving every minute of being in front of the crowd. I didn't know he had died. RIP dude, here's to making one of the best and most enduring tunes ever.

If you grew up in the late 90s like me. This is the music that was in the clubs. This for me is big. This is one of those seismic, massive events in music. Can't be overstated just how sad I am to hear of the passing of this musical genius. R.I.P Maxwell Fraser. God bless

RIP Maxi Jazz. I was lucky enough to see Faithless perform live in Ibiza many years ago and the group are responsible for so many great dance music classics, but 'Insomnia' is something really really special that will always get my hairs on the back of my neck rising when the iconic pizzicato hits. His smooth, low tones fit perfectly and the fact that millions of people throughout the world now can recite lines involving 'one dry potato' and 'tearing off tights with my teeth' show how huge his influence was.

I met him 20+ years ago in Belgrade, during the press conference for their concert when I was a print journalist. I keep photo with him close to my work desk. It always reminds me of kindness and saying that you always remember how someone made you feel. He had one of the most positive energies of all people I ever met.🥺 And I met a lot of people...

I've started experiencing insomnia now in my 40s. I first heard this song as a 12 year old back in 1995. It's strange but these lyrics actually give me peace now, even without any rest. Maxi was right: once you get past the fatigue, there's a deeper meaning to this strange alertness. It's almost like you're blessed in a weird way - you're experiencing times and feelings that 99 percent of the population aren't. It's not a curse and it never has been; it's an awakening. It's a summoning to higher things and you can't deny the call. You should always embrace it because eventually, no matter what, an oblivion will come in one form or another. Either an oblivion of your awakening or an oblivion of your consciousness or an oblivion of your life. You don't have to wait on every second, it will happen regardless of your will. And there is a comfort in that.
