I’m not somebody who will change their current camera to the next iteration, I still have a Nikon Z7, but for sure my Q2 will be sold and a Q3 bought as a quick as possible. The upgrades are amazing. One thing all reviews seem to miss is the new BSI sensor with triple resolution, drop the resolution to 18mp and with pixel binning low light shooting will be another level - way better than the Q2

I have a question regarding editing the leica images via Capture One, if I used a crop while shooting, does this crop apply on the raw in capture one or do I only have this cropped version on a jpeg? would love to see it there like I had the intension while shooting it.

I actually use Capture One with my x100f. I think a really cool future video would be to see how you edit your photos. From RAW to cropping to editing to the final version.

Question for ya! When shooting, does it black out when the shutter is engaged? In burst mode, does it black out / freeze like the Q2? Also, does the FPS drop at higher ISOs? I notice my Q2 is super choppy at 3200 and higher. Thanks!

Kudos to Leica for capitalizing on a market opportunity left by the scarcity of the 100V. I’m still surprised they’ve gone with a flip screen and disappointed to see such a wide prime lens on it. Sorry if I missed it in the video, but how’s the separation in “punched in mode” wide open?

Awesome review Faizal! How usable would you say those crop modes are when comparing to say a 26mp Fujifilm? I use a X-E4 and a 18mm F2 and 35mm F1.4. Wondering if the crop mode would match the 35mm F1.4 for detail. The math says one should get just over 15mp at 50mm crop with around about an F3.4 equivalent depth of field. What do you reckon, will it match, fall short or out perform the X-E4 with the 35mm F1.4 for detail? Depth of field would obviously fall short by a bit more than a stop. Anyway, looking forward to the photo-walk video. Cheers Stefan

Any chance did you try any short video clips? Wonder how the video works if rolling shutter is bad, would make a nice family travel camera if I can rely on the video also for short clips.

Can you share your experience with using app for downloading images. When downloading both dng and jpeg i can only see one ' combined ' file. On SD card you have both. Is it intentional?

About the floppy screen. The Q line makes a ton of sense.

11:02 I'm curious if the Q2 battery will work in the Q3 I currently have the Q2 + 2 batteries. With this new release I'm considering the upgrade. Perhaps I will sell my Q2 + batteries to KEH and use those proceeds to supplement the purchase of the Q3+batteries ----- hmmmm. The flip screen alone is worth the upgrade for me. I have a bad back and knees

As much as I like the improvements in the auto focus especially, and the tilt screen, viewfinder. The main issue for me is you still can’t get the separation from a digital 28 mm that you can with the actual primes in equivalent focal lengths. This stands out a lot in some of the images you took. For me I’ll stick with my primes. Plus I can buy a Fuji XT5 and get three major primes and still have money left over. 🖖

I never thought the q2 provided good value. But this? But for a missing joystick, what more could you possibly ask for?

I would absolutely kill for a Leica Q3 with a fixed 50mm lens. That would be a game changer, in my opinion. Every time I handle a Q2, I fall in love. That is, until I look through the viewfinder and see the focal length. I shoot with 50mm exclusively, and 28 just does not work with me. Please, Leica, I beg of you...

Does the 50mm look distorted? A 28mm distorts the scene and you’re still cropping into a distorted image. Your opinions please.

Hey faizel as always love your video! I have a question about your Capture one experience so far! Do you ever find you miss photoshop? and how was the experience transfering from cap to lightroom mostly in terms of catalogs?

The one million question, I am X100V user as you. Do you recommend upgrading to the Q3? Does it offer more than what X100V offers?

Honestly, this just makes me want the Q2 even more. I applaud Leica for being confident enough in their brand to step away from fundamentals to capture a wider audience. I'd say that's something they've been unwilling to do in the past. It makes perfect sense for the Q, as their most typical consumer facing line. But the Q3 is definitely pivoting away from a lot of the things I really admired about the Q and Q2. Adopting features and tools which are common amongst the Sony type bodies- things which are a big part of why those bodies feel disconnected from camera heritage. Obviously the Q3 (and those Sony bodies) deliver versatility and results, but they lose a bit of soul in the process. To me this is why many Fujifilm bodies and Leica bodies feel distinctly separate from the Canon, Nikon, Sony offerings. I like the Q series as like an x100v done by Leica. This new Q feels more like an A7c done by Leica. I say that as someone who owns and enjoys an A7c ha. Anyway. Good video, great camera. Looking forward to the Q2 getting every closer to falling into my dirty little paws.

If the Leica made the screen flushed with the body, wouldn't it be even harder to pull out the screen?
