--------
In this clip, Faizon Love and Vlad reacted to Michael Jai White comparing Samuel L. Jackson and Denzel Washington. The possibility of Samuel Jackson replacing Denzel Washington in some of his roles was debated. It was inspired by a statement made by Michael Jai White, suggesting that Jackson could execute almost every role Denzel played. They hypothesized about Jackson performing in films like "American Gangster," "Training Day," and "Fences." However, certain roles like that of Malcolm X and the lead in "Glory" were viewed as unique to Denzel. The conversation was reversed, too, discussing whether Denzel could pull off roles performed by Jackson, like Nick Fury from the Marvel universe, highlighting the distinctiveness of each actor. Overall, both Samuel Jackson and Denzel Washington were celebrated as two of the best actors in the industry, each bringing a unique approach to their roles, and hence, making a direct comparison between them was deemed unjust and pointless.

He’s absolutely right. No two actors are going to interpret the performance of a character the same way. So it’s unfair to say that one person’s interpretation is superior to the other. I agree with Faizon.

For whatever reason Micheal Jai White acts as if he's somehow offended by the career of Denzel Washington and he's using Samuel Jackson as a shield. What he really wants to say is he could have played those roles as well as Denzel Washington.
@victordeltoids8609
@victordeltoids8609 9 ай бұрын
Yeah Michael does sound as though he has something personal against Denzel. The two are so different in their approach to the craft. It's overly simplified to say that Samuel can play any role of Denzel's come on. Denzel has a smoothness that Samuel just can't pull off and Samuel has an eloquent gruffness that Denzel can't pull off. Better to just appreciate both greats.😄

I felt the same thing listening to Michael in his interview. There is some low key jealousy to me. All Michael´s movies will have martial arts in them. Denzel even did Macbeth enough said!
@Nimonjeua-Ndiangang
@Nimonjeua-Ndiangang 8 ай бұрын
This is what I got out of his statements...he's so envious of Denzel's legacy because he knows he'll never reach that level whereas, he feels closer to the possibility of someday becoming a Samuel Jackson and yeah he used Jackson as a shield to spew his lukewarm jealousy of Denzel Washington. Eventhough MJW is a big dude, he has a Nepolean complex.

What Michael Jai Sequel Trilogy forgets is that both have played very similar roles. Jackson was great in "The Negotiator ", Washington also played a negotiator in "Inside Man". While Jackson couldn't play Malcolm X, he could definitely play another legend from that era..maybe a Stokley Carmichael or a Bobby Seale. Both have have played soldiers. Jackson in "Basic" and Washington in "Antoine Fisher, The Hunt for Red October and I think one more. Both bring a natural charisma to the roles they play that often suit the character perfectly and that's why we love them.

They are two of my favorite actors of all time, but let me make something clear just because Samuel Jackson had more movie roles then Denzel that don’t mean he’s more significant it just means Denzel is more selective on what films he does, and films he does do. and I don’t think Sammy L Jackson would do good in fences I just can’t picture him doing it but I don’t know I could be wrong. Seems more like a Denzel Washington movie like I can’t see Denzel playing Nick fury. Thats just is not his type of movie💯 it’s not a bad thing. Somethings are for some people and some things or not.
